A couple weeks ago I drove about 460 miles round trip to/from NJ (total of 7 hour drive) and for a few days after that trip, I got no hesitation on startups, at all.
After those few days, I went back to my daily drive routine which is only 10 miles round trip and low and behold, hesitation on start-up is back. This leads me to believe that my driving distance/battery level is the culprit. |

Thinking about it some more, it takes longer for me to get home than to get to work (even though same miles). With the extra time having the car being on getting home, maybe the battery has more time to charge. That's why the stutter never happens when I start the car in the morning at home and does stutter in the evening after work. Strange that the delta is probably no more than 30 minutes between the drive there and the drive back.

mine has done it a couple of times on start up and also after driving it when the start/stop function is operational. so it shouldn't be battery related or the car wouldn't/shouldn't cut out when you come to a standstill if the battery is low. it's done this when I had to stop and wait at a roundabout and coughed and spluttered after a few too many cranks nearly causing an accident. this is why I now always deactivate the Start/stop function!
