Has anyone with the new version MPE start to see cracks again?

It's been a year since I replaced mine. I don't see cracks yet but the seams look a little burnt with brownish marks. Hoping the weldings hold up and don't crack.

My previous V2 did not crack after about 1 year of use. I'm on 8 months on my current V2, and it's holding up fine with 8 track days. It is changing colors which is normal for titanium... purple, blue and gold.

The brownish marks are normal and occur when the titanium gets to about 300-400°C. 500°C and 600°C is blue and purple.

Time to let her out of the cage!!

I just use Griots Engine Cleaner on the inside of the tips to keep the carbon buildup to a minimum and let the metal shine though. I let it built up too much on my previous MPE and it was never the same.

That looks fantastic and so clean. Well done!

Can I ask why you replaced your original exhaust on the CS to the MPE? My dealer was trying to tell me that the CS comes standard with the MPE even though it looks like a competition exhaust. Do you notice a difference and would you say it's worth the investment?

The CS exhaust is the same as the Comp but with different tips as far as I know. It sounds a little different but that might be due to the tune. The MPE sounds much more aggressive and it weighs less. I got it because I had one on my previous M3 and I really missed the sound. I got 20% off at my local dealer and the installed was only $200 and it's warrantied so I figure it's worth it.

Thank you for the explanation. I am wanting to go down the track with my Competition. However in Australia the dealers want to charge $12,500 fitted which I believe is too high. I wait and hope that BM Australia will offer some discounts on these but I'm not holding my breath.

I purchased some CS wheels from a guy that had them with 50klm and I must say I can feel a difference to handling from competition wheels.

My V1 cracked and I went to go get it fixed recently, this is what the guy did, WTF. he said he could weld it. So pissed! Now I gotta take it to someone who can do the job correctly and fix what he did. I couldn't believe it when I saw it.

They did my secondary cat deletes for Magnaflo bottle resonators. No complaints there. So basically they thought they could Mig weld this as well. And this was an exhaust shop. You figure they would know better. Anyway, gonna cost more now to fix it, just gotta deal with it.

Does anyone know if they replace the X pipe when you get this fixed under warranty?

I don't think they did on my previous V1. It was just the axle back. They even retained my old CF tips.

So glad I was reading through the forums before putting a deposit on my first M car.

Cracked titanium exhaust which is being replaced under warranty before picking up the keys. Asked if they would be replacing with the V2.

The V1 is out of production and if they did put it in it's from very old inventory. Regardless, make sure the additional support brackets are there. I believe the warranty is on the part and not the car so you would be covered for the part for a few years(?) confirm with your SA

Do you know where the additional support brackets are placed? Feel like the SA doesn't really know anything about the exhaust.

I was asking the SA I was speaking with yesterday. He just kept saying they are replacing with the same part number and didn't think it was updated. Hoping thats not the case when it comes in.

Said the part is back ordered and will take a month to get.
