Funny that you say that, because I woke up this morning with a strong bias towards BSM. Of course, I change my mind every day...

The other thing I did after work was compare black cars with white cars. I have had both in the past, and now I might get another one.

Anyway, I noticed all the black cars in the parking lot looked better than all the white cars in terms of dirt, sheen, etc. On the drive home, same thing. Black cars seemed to look shinier and better overall. Not sure if you can classify this as scientific, but I am spending the next week or so observing both white and black cars on the road.

I once had a black car, and I swore I'd never get another, but the problems I had were really after washing it. Streaks all over the place... Maybe I can solve that??? I also had a white car, and had completely different issues there too (insects & tar stains).

So anyway, I am leaning towards BSM right now, but who knows...Maybe I will end up going with YMB after all.

I personally went with the MW because I love how all of the shadowline trim and the carbon roof POP against a light color. The contrast makes for a very aggressive and modern look.

For what it's worth, try imagining what color interior you want.. then coordinate the exterior as follows.

If you want a black interior then... eh.. my recommendation need not apply

Honestly, you can't really go wrong but if I were you I would take a look at YMB in person before ordering it, it's cool but it's my least favorite color as I don't think I could deal with it on an everyday basis. If I were you I'd get the AW since it's free and you can always wrap your car later on if you have a change of heart

IMO:

1. AW/SO - Too played out it seems. Don't be one of many!
2. MG SO - I like it, but MG a little farther down my list. This is an M4, not a 435i. Go with something fun! Still a nice combo.
3. BSM/SO - Nice, but same comments as #2
4. BSM/SS - My last choice on this list
5. MG/SS - MG/SO a little nicer I feel
6. SS/SO - Winner! I would go with this. Beautiful combo. Every time I see an SS F82 on the road I just: It looks great in the sun, and I personally like the light blue sheen it has. I get the feeling that SS is one of those colors on the M3/M4 that many love. Can't say the same about any other color. Also with added black carbon parts, it takes it too another level of meanness.

Just my opinion, but good luck deciding nonetheless!

Thanks for the advice. I just wish I could see SS in the wild. I've only seen AY and BSM.

If I bought an M3, I would definitely go with YMB or SO (When available).
It looks too much like a family sedan to me, which is why, IMHO, It needs a special color.
Also, IMHO, if you go with a classic color (like MG, SS, BSM, AW), at least the interior should be SO, to make up for the blandness.

Had my two choices down to AW & MG. I absolutely love the AY but I know myself and was worried I would get sick of flashy nature of it. In the end I went with MG with SO interior. The wife and I had a lot of discussions about the color, well more so I drove her NUTS about it and we both agreed on MG. Basically AW lost out because of the massive amount of white cars on the road around here.
It didn't hurt that seeing the MG in person (the only one a local dealer had) I loved the color even though it hadn't had a bath in a bit. My ED pickup is in July.

If you do see SS on the road, I will be curious to see if it moves up your list. It makes the M4 look extra muscular it seems compared to the other colors I have seen: AY, SO and MG.

Agree!

I posted my list waaaaaay back last week when SO was not an option.
SO, judging from the photos can look incredibly rich and punchy as well as not.
Where I live, I'm, more likely to see Ivory-billed woodpecker than an SO M4/3.

Yeah, I'm doing black interior no matter what.

I'm still torn between AW, MW, MG, BSM, and YMB. If it weren't for the fact that my last 4 cars were silver, SS probably would have have been at the top of my list.

Last week I thought I made a decision to go with BSM, and then a couple days ago I switched to YMB. Now I'm back where I started from. I have no idea, but like I said before, I'm sure I'll be happy no matter what color I go with.
