I drive all around the year, but my ///M3 will not set salt or snow if i can help it.
Lower Ny roads are sometimes unpredictable. My gripe is when the snow hits you can't see the nasty potholes because its just a white blanket out there. |

Only when the roads are clean / dry. For the reasons others have stated (low clearance, other drivers, RWD, etc), doesn't make much sense to drive in snow unless you have no choice.

On the harshest winter days here we might see some frost on the ground or on those unfortunate cars that get left outside. One of the advantages to living in the "Valley of the Sun" is year round driving (and 4-wheeling) weather. Even in the summer when it's too hot during the day we take our 4x4's out for night runs (that's why we put lights under our rigs).

Don't have "M" so I didn't want to "pollute" the vote, but I do own RWD, and live in area with lots of snow and salt, and, yes, I drive it year round.
However, I must admit I was very reluctant before the first winter with the car, as I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Good winter tires and common sense and it's all good, just don't expect to be fast off the line. That said, I can completely understand why some would chose to drive something that's simply "better/safer" given the conditions. Hard to deny AWD is smarter choice. |

The amount of gravel and salt and rocks the city dumps on the roads makes me not drive my car once the first snowfall hits, to when the street cleaners are out. I did however daily drive it during the summer months last year. This coming summer who knows. Likely will drive it as much as I can.

I have a few other choices to enjoy the snowy roads with. She comes out in the Winter, just not with white powder on the street.

I'm one of those nice weather guys. The M might as well be a Ferrari to me, so I want to keep it nice. My beater is a first gen Miata, which is still a really fun car to drive, so I don't mind. Some days it's preferred. With winter tires it does surprisingly well in the snow too.
