I test drove both before making my decision. I’m happy I chose the M3, full package is definitely how you need to think about it. I do still think about a 340 with bonkers exhaust though. Maybe one day I’ll own both haha.

I want to thank you for all the input, I know you all may be biased (this is the M3/M4 forum), but I did test drive both. Although the 2018 340i ZHP is certainly a cut above the 2014 335i MPPK I own. BMW seems to have closed the gaps that my car lacks with the steering and the power. However, although I was surprised at the improvements over 4 years the F30 has made, I was completely blown away by my lengthy test drive of the M3! Without your input, I would not have test drove the "M". So I will be changing directions and looking for a used or CPO 2016 M3 or M4. I will post results when I find the "Right One" but I can be patient and may take me several months, thanks...

Go M3 and just get a 2015 if price is an issue!
I got a 2015 and didn't want the outdated look so the first thing I did was upgrade the taillights. Of course now I love the new headlights and Comp pack, but honestly the car is so much fun it doesn't matter at all!
