163 in a 15 (school zone). Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know...it was an abandoned road and the school was closed but apparently it still counts. $3,600 fine and a night in jail. Good ol Liberty Co GA.

After many prior tickets such as exhibition of speed and such one day it happened. Wreckless driving, unsafe lane change, double the speed limit in a construction zone. I was 19 in a RSX type S, lost my license for a year and had to carry a SR-22 for a while. Best thing that ever happened to me though cause I joined the military 3 months later and while I’m not in anymore; I got my life on track and have a great family from it.

Agreed. But had my record not been clean, he wouldn't have been cool about it. His tone completely changed once I told him the truth about my driving record and he came back from checking himself (no tickets on my record, one speeding ticket I got dismissed via online driving school 6 months prior that wasn't on my record). I don't think he believed me looking at my car, the situation, and my age... and the fact I laughed when he said I was still pulling from him lol

I am an old geek and this happened in about 1967 and I was 17 yrs old. My girlfriend and I had been having unprotected sex and we were starting to get worried. I decided to go to the drug store and buy some condoms. Those of you who are old enough will recall that this was not as easy as it is today. You had to go and talk to the pharmacist. Well, I didn't want to buy them at a local pharmacy where all my parents neighbors would possibly see me, so I drove out of the area to do the dirty deed. Nervous as hell, I was tooling down the road in my 64 Impala SS, and this old lady in a 56 Chev is going like 20 MPH. I shove it into second gear and go around her on a city street. Sure enough cop tickets me for speeding. To make matters worse, when I got to the drug store the pharmacist was a woman who quizzed me "do you want pre-lubed? Do you want with or without reservoir? etc etc. Thought I would die, and was sure it was God who gave me the ticket. Please remember these were simpler times.

Sooooo.....did you score after the ticket or? If you did, would at least soften the blow a little. You wouldn't have been in the situation to over take the lady and get the ticket if it wasn't for your lady friend haha. |

Had gotten the opportunity to drive a Chevy SS manual. One of my favorite cars. Anyway, I turned left at a light and decided to gun it. I didn't see that there was an officer waiting at the light. He started chasing me and I immediately pulled over. He thought I intentionally decided to floor it when I saw him. It was a 62 in a 45. To anyone who wants to drive one or gets the opportunity to, please do! It's a modern reincarnation of the E39 M5 except with really good steering.

Then technically it's not a 15mph school zone if the school is closed...it shouldn't count. You got shafted...hard.

On valentines day a few years back, a Subaru kept egging me on to go on my way to pick up my date. After a couple attempts, I gave in and punched it. I flew by an undercover cop and received four tickets and an impounded car.
The one smart thing I did was hire a small claims traffic lawyer. He came with me the court and I ended up with only one ticket for 10 over. I got off alright in the end I suppose.

I was driving about 185 KM/h on the highway where the speed limit is 120 KM/h. It was during a weekday around 1 AM. The weather was dry and it was about 10 degrees Celsius as I recall it. I was alone except for one car that seemed like it was following me, as it turned out it was an unmarked cop car that was measuring my speed over a distance of a couple kilometers, I got pulled over and my drivers license got revoked for 15 days. The cops said that my corrected speed was 160 KM/H and besides a fine there were no further consequences. This was in Belgium on the E313 around the region of Hasselt. Needless to say that my wife was not happy because she had to come and pick me up. I had to leave the car and the next day my wife and father in law had to get my car. I had to use my bike and public transport for two weeks which was a PITA. Now I keep my speed below the speed limit + 30 KM/h (highway only). I never drive over the speed limit on normal roads.
