Got mine for $750 for 3 years - it has more than paid for itself....5 run flat tires and 2 wheels replaced in 2 1/2 years - the roads suck in Houston. As people have said, a lot depends on what the roads are like where you drive....

If we're talking about run flats, than I would definitly get the tire and wheel insurance. I had numerous instances of side wall bulge when I had my 335 and I vowed never to get a car with run flats ever again.

I bought a used BMW that had the tire/wheel warranty and it was supposed to transfer but the amount of crap you have to go through and if you wait more than 30 days which they don't tell you but it is in the fine print it will not transfer. Anyway, because of the awful customer service from the third party that offers the insurance and the fact that it is virtually not-transferrable, I will never give them a dime for that warranty.

But for the rest of us, that's highly unlikely. The insurance business goes like this: For every $4 premium they collect, they take $1 to pay claims. They pocket the remaining $3. Just like the casino, the house always wins! |

Was considering swapping out the wheels eventually so the cost will go towards that

I have it.
The 335is I had before this needed to 2 rims replaced due to pothole damage. Each rim was $550 + runflats at $360 each the plan paid for itself. I'm thinking the 666m rims are not any cheaper... Like anything else, it's insurance and I have peace of mind driving in NY. |

I just contacted Geico and was told that if you get a pothole or nail in the tire it is covered under collision. So all you pay is your deductible and Geico pays the rest. I am going to cancel this tire and rim warrranty that the dealer sold me. I wonder why they sell it to people who already have insurance that would pay for it? To make more money? |

I have Geico as well so I’m going to give them a call and inquire about this. However, if you file a claim for say pothole damage on a rim, isn’t it considered an at-fault claim because you hit a stationary object? You will then get hit with a premium hike. Not sure this works out financially in your favor long term. |

I work for dealer and tire and wheels warranty is the best money you can buy if you live in the city with pot holes and stuffs. They not only cover tires but wheel repair or replacement

I use Progressive still and while the above scenario did happen (and was covered) when I got 2 separate punctures (one from a nail, one from road debris on the highway) on my second set of tires they did not. Tire Rack's roadside protection did the job. Twice.
