I thought the Akra was an o2 sensor simulator. Does it plug into the sensors or the ECU?

It plugs into the O2 sensors.
The emission monitors for Oxygen Sensors and Catalytic Convertor Efficiency will remain in the "Not Ready" status.
It will only keep the CEL off for Oxygen sensor and Catalytic Convertor faults.

The CEL will still work normally if an engine issue happened.

$500 for the Akra Delete R seems to be a complete waste of money. Its utterly pointless to me and just about everyone else if it doesnt pass emissions.

Nothing will pass emission testing on the removal of the catalytic convertor.
There would be a large law suit if a company made a component to do so.

The tool works the same as anything else on the market.
Even the Macht Schnell tool that removes the CEL in the exact same manner.

Akra did not make a O2 sim for the straight 6 turbos until now. Code deleting is never a good solution. O2 sim is a much better solution. Akra had a bad batch. They admitted to it. All the new ones work flawlessly.

But it's not an O2 sim as most people would understand it. It prevents the CEL, but the emissions is still in a non ready state. Most people, except companies trying to sell a $500 CEL delete, understand an O2 sim as something that would pretend (ie, simulate) it is an O2 sensor providing the correct signals so that the ECU thinks the precats are working correctly.

I understand the legalities of this, I'm not arguing that, but what I am saying is that companies need to quit playing false advertising and saying this is an O2 sim, because it is clearly not what most normal people would understand to be an O2 sim.

We see most of them come in through the doors at one time or another. They cause more tuning issues then what they're worth.

Getting the lamp removed by a flash tune is the best way to go about this, but it will not pass emissions testing due to the O2s not entering readiness mode.

That's what I am saying. My ECU enters readiness mode and passes emissions. I mean, it would not pass the smell test or the tail fume test, but would pass the OBDII test.

The Akrapovic unit is only for CEL removal, it will not allow the cats to enter readiness mode.

+1

As far as I am aware nothing on the market will allow the o2 system to reach readiness with catless downpipes installed. All solution just delete and mask the light.

Like I mentioned above, not since the N54 engine has there actually been a true o2 sim. Nothing on the N20/N26, N55, S55, etc.

What do you have for CEL/Catless Downpipe that keeps ALL your monitors in the "Ready" state ?

This thread needs to have more updated information because there is an o2 fix available now for f8x. It is a io2 version 3 o2 simulator made by ******. It has worked for the n55 guys and was told it will work for the f8x. I bought 2 for mine and will be installing them very soon. You need one for each secondary sensor. For the people saying to get a flash tune to remove the light, or to buy a retarded akra delete to just mask the light, may as well just throw away your money. You won't pass emissions so what is the point of it??? Makes absolutely no sense why you would remove the cel but won't pass emissions anyways. I have been looking everywhere to find this fix because I need the car to pass the readiness test.
