Mann 816 vs 8011

Some info shows the 816 filter for the M4, others show 8011. Are they interchangeable?

I think the only difference is the 816 is made in mexico and the 8011 is made in germany but not 100% sure. All i know is the part code on the one you get if u buy it from bmw is 8011 made in germany so thats the one i use.

Yep, you are right 816 box says made in Mexico 8011 box says made in Germany. Fitment show both for M4 but for my X4 it shows 816 and not 8011. Weird.
