I’ve had both and while I do agree the f80 was (is) incredible. It’s just ever so slightly looking it’s age now. Still an amazing car with those hips though!

Beautiful Car. Best looking M4 made. 5x the visual appeal of a GTS imo.

Can we all agree that the M3/4 looks much much better than the C63? I mean, that's just a weird looking car amirite?

I don't even know how people fit in the M3. The contortions I had to put myself through just to get in that narrow azz driver's door sucked.

Had to get the M4 with it's massive doors after that lol. To this day I still don't know how far I can open them before I'm ramming walls, other cars, etc. I've never had to be so careful getting in/out of a car while parked next to other vehicles because of how long the doors are.

In regards to the CS versions, M4 wins due to OLED tails alone.

2 doors ALWAYS >>>>> 4 doors anyway.

Out of curiosity, what was the reason you didn’t like it? Does the m3 not live up to your expectations of a sedan, or did you buy the sedan for another reason?

For a close price difference now.. IMO, the GTS is a better equipped track whip from the factory. As for myself, my build with mods is also better compared to the factory GTS/M4 CS. I know for some this can sound like sour grapes. I have a heavily modded, track ready regular M3 w/ JRZ RS Pro, Essex AP BBK, Ferrodo DS1.11, Spiegler SS brake lines, front Mono Balls and rear steel bushings, Dinan Suspension Link Kit, Forgeline wheels, MSI studs etc, etc. Now it's a more reliable, better performing and handling track whip compared to the factory CS, GTS. My .O2, build it if you plan to keep it. I've been wrestling with the idea of upgrading too. Cheers.

IMO they even made the M4CS more of a track car, because who would track a 4 door car unless that was their only option?

If you own an M3 and don't have kids, cool I guess, but coupes>sedans if you don't have human cargo IMO.
No kids, but how about canine cargo?

My M3 was a track car. Considering they perform pretty much exactly the same an an M4, why not? In the case of the M3 CS, obviously they chose to keep some comfort, like door panels. It doesn't mean we can't track the M3 CS, which is only about 5kg heavier.

I think there is more weight difference than that between the M3cs and M4cs simply because the M4cs has more weight reduction elements than the M3cs. However, the weight difference in not major.

I've been trying to figure out the "true" weights of the M4cs and M3cs for a while and found it to be a rather elusive thing since there are so many contradictory informations floating around, including BMW's own specs.

The M4 CS is supposedly a few tenths faster to 60 as well so you are probably right. I don't want to do another M3 Vs M4 thread. Just wanted to point out that the M3 does just fine on the track.

Agreed. While the M4 has a theoretical advantage to its lower weight, lower center of gravity and lower drag, the difference is marginal in real life.

I believe that the M3cs and M4cs have the same quoted 0-100km/h (3.9s) and 0-60mph (3.7s) figures by BMW though...

No doubt, you can track the M3. I just think that if I were buying a track only car, I'd do a coupe. I think I'd only go with a CS if it were going to be a track only car. Not different enough for the cost to DD, IMHO.
