Aluminium charge pipes problem whistle sound

Hi to all, i just installed aftermarket charge pipes and car have a wistle sound at full throttle, is like it have a little boost leak and the sound is horrible. At visual inspection pipes don t have damages, o rings are in.
Edit: solved, it seems that new rubber need little more torque on pipes side

that whistle when turbo make pressure is from clamps on that rubber from charge pipes to charge cooler, the clamps(that big one camed with charge, pipes 4 pieces) are cheap one and when you torque it not apply pressure on all circle and turbo loose pressure. That whistle make me laugh first time, i have enough space and i installes near them the oem small clamps and whistle gone.

If it's high pitched, it's a boost leak. Glad you got it resolved.

FYI... The stock clamps are specifically designed for this application. They are called Norma clamps. They are able to maintain their clamping force under the temperature and pressure changes in automotive boost applications. The clamps that come with most aftermarket charge pipes, even the T-bolt clamps, are not always up to the task.

Here is more info on the OEM clamps made by Norma:

Norma Torro WF Clamps

Norma Clamp Catalog (p. 68 for these clamps)

The stock ones are Norma 50-70 clamps (50mm to 70mm, min-max diameter), you can see this stamped on them. They should still work with any aftermarket charge pipes and the silicone couplers that come with them. I used these same style/brand clamps in my S/C'ed E46 M3 when other design clamps failed and/or did not fit properly (like T-bolt clamps).

I have not installed charge pipes in my car yet, but when I do, I will either re-use the stock clamps or get the appropriately sized Norma clamps. And I would recommend the same to anyone else as I think the BMW engineers got this simple, yet effective (and important) design element right....

Make sure the o-rings were installed. So many cars come in with no o-rings in the charge pipes.

I have fixed at least 5 cars with no o-rings installed, so I don't assume anything any more.
