335i to M3 - Need some help with ordering

Hi Everyone,

My F30 335i lease is up and I'm making the switch to the M3 . I'm going to be ordering mine soon and need some honest opinions on some of the options and also need some clarification on some. Hopefully you all can help me out as I am triyng to keep costs down yet get the most for my money. Note - I have read through the FAQ's but it's almost information overload.

Lighting Package - The standard lighting option states: "Xenon Adaptive Headlights with dynamic auto-leveling, Corona headlight-rings and Cornering Lights". What are you paying for here? My 335 m-sport has the standard lights which are certainly good enough, though my window sticker says "Xenon adaptive headlights with dynamic auto-leveling, corona headlight surrounds, and LED accent lights". So are the standard lights the same as my 335? Not sure what the option $1900 pays for...

Adaptive M Suspension - I know its only $1000 option and most people get it from what I've seen yet I'm still questioning it. For those who haven't opted to get this option are you regretting it? Is this a "must have"? I've driven a 335i with and without it and haven't felt much difference though I assume the M's are different?

The $1900 lighting package is for adaptive LEDs.

I have the LED lights and coded them to work like they should. I feel doing this makes it worth $1900. Without the ability to code in the antidazzle feature, I still would have bought the LED lights because they work better at night. All that said, the standard Xenon lights will work quite well and should be the same as the Xenon lights on the 335.

I have the adaptive suspension and I like the feature. You should be fine without it, but remember the chassis and suspension of the M3 will be stiffer than a 335i. The standard suspension has been described as somewhere in between the sport and sport plus setting of the adaptive. If you like a smoother ride at times or have passengers that are sensitive to such things, then you may want to opt for the adaptive. Though neither suspension will feel plush.

Lighting package is for full LED headlights. Unless you're LUPS I would recommend it. I am kicking myself for not getting that option. The coronas are much nicer on the LED Headlights.

Definitely get the Executive Package and the Adaptive M Suspension. I also would reccomend the HK sounds system as well. I will not buy another BMW without HK.

OP there are two threads on the very topics you are searching for input on. Not FAQ threads.

Also HK is standard on the 2016s.

PM me your email address and I can send you the order guide.

Good luck!

HK is now standard. And yes it's the bomb.

When building on bmwusa.com, the lighting package keeps adding itself to my build when opting for the 19" Black Light-Alloy Wheel Double-SpokeStyle 437 M with Mixed Perf. Tires. Is this normal or a sign from the bmw gods that I should just get the lighting package?
