This is the first M car I've truly been excited about since the original M coupe debuted in 1998! Any idea if they'll offer actual M cloth seats, rather than the base cloths seats? Not sure if they did on the E90, but you could get it on the US E36 and E46 cars, if special ordered.

No offense, but it's funny how all 13 M3 coupe owners prefer the new M3. It's just because they refuse to like the M4 because it's more of smack in the face to their current car.
No, not at all. I sincerely think the m3 looks much better. I'd prefer to like the m4, but the m3 just looks better to me. Maybe it's the blue vs piss yellow?

Give me the new m3 with my s65 and I'd pay 85k for it.

I could care less what's faster or had more torque. I traded my 11 for the 13 just because I loved it that much and wanted to go dct to 6mt.

No regrets at all! ALL HAIL THE E92! LOL.

So then you'd pay $100k for the E46. It's older and even slower too. You're salesman's dream!

The oil pump nut would simply fall off due to vibrations causing the chain and sprocket to go with it. A common fix is to either wire tie or weld the oil pump nut to the shaft. The s52 is more tolerant to vibrations since it has an iron block, so this "mod" generally works. However since the m54 is aluminum and therefore transmits more energy, it would still shear the sprocket off the shaft even though the nut was welded on. I'm just simply pointing out how nasty harmonics can cause failure in certain areas, even in a balanced engine like the I6.
Highly doubt this problem was related to the engine vibrations. One also can not assume that a less dense material for a block will always transmit more vibration to all locations. Also this sounds absolutely like problem(s) with the oil pump itself, especially if its entire shaft was sheared off. Could be shaft size, thread size, thread fit or tolerance, lack of thread locker, vibrations in the oil pump itself, etc., etc.

I do not understand why they designed the oil temp gauge scale like this. It is unreadable unless you the kind of genius who would actually buy this car.

Anyway, the small ticks are clearly only there for design reasons...

This car is pretty much on the limit, 425hp from a 2997 I6 is getting close to dangerous territories. if you want to tune to get more power, you better be ready to afford fixing it every 5K.

Just keep it as is and enjoy it for 50K miles then get rid of it.
Haters were writeing same things about the GTR when it came out. Look at the GTRs now, how much hp they make, with just an ecu tune and down pipes/exhaust.

What's the procedure/cost for that?

The purpose of the gauge is not so much for precise temperature as relative temperature. As you say the designers wanted matching tick marks for both fuel and temp.

Runflats or not?

Agree, BMW has not and will not do that on the M3. MMobility kit only weighs 4 1/4 lbs. Runflats would weigh more and be unsprung/rotational weight.

For people that are on the metric system this is slightly annoying...

100 km/h should be visible.. but I'm glad they didn't copy Audi with the intervals decreasing further up the speedometer.

That is a color in most 48 count Crayola crayons. Being a parent has its advantages I guess!

The length of the M3 on the first page is posted wrong. Is posted at 4615mm and the right length is 4671, which is 2.3 inches longer.
