Yes, this tool. The studs are too small. I'll visit the hardware store for bigger nuts that I can grab onto.
Happy 4th.

You too!
Good luck

Edit: We all need bigger nuts sometimes

Is there some special process for the oil level spacer kit if you have a base model vs others? Feel like this is the second time ive heard something about base models and this mod? Didnt see any notes on bimmerworld page about anything different?

Been to busy with my E46 and havent tracked F80 recently. Will be my next mod at some point.

It's straightforward but the ZCP/Civic sensor does not use a spacer. With the spacer installed, there isn't enough thread for the nuts without longer studs (see photo). The BimmerWorld kits includes the appropriate length extends studs.

For additional details on the install please refer to @SYT_SHADOW 's GTS Twins thread.

They make these mcgiver stud removal tools in smaller sizes. And they work so well in the bigger size on wheel stud removal, makes sense to invest in more than one

Lightly used slick tires. Usually from qualifying or testing runs. Then teams or shops sell off the old tires. Saves hobbyist hundreds of dollars to taste that juicy juicy slick life.
Any way of getting them as a regular joe? Located in CA and looking for 265/18 size

Ive never actually ordered slicks new or used yet.
Think alot of people get them from ebay as they pop up. There is usedracingtires.com. Bimmerworld also tends to have some used tires in from time to time.

Im sure there are other places but these are the spots I have seen in the past. Love to hear any other online places you all may have. One day ill step up.

Quality has always been good for me on what I've gotten from JB Racing Tires and Bimmerworld. Both Pirelli and Michelin.

I run the Bimmerworld oil overfill kit to combat my worries about starvation. It bumps the capacity up to 7.25 liters like the CS and GTS models.

Any of you guys drive your car to the track and change your wheels at the track? If so, how do you fit your track wheels and jack into your car, and how do you avoid dirtying up your interior.

I remove the rear seat and backrest. Sometimes I use the X3 as my support vehicle with 8 tires and put a dropcloth on top of the leather seats to not mess them up. It works well. Just a normal home depot drop cloth

Another option is to put the tires inside those tire totes.

I put my rear seats down and lay cloth from there thru the entire trunk + use tire totes as shadow suggested.

This product works well because it stays in place using loops that are placed over the front and rear head rests. The tarp/drop cloth tends to shift as you load in each tire. It's waterproof and doubles as a tarp to cover your tools/gear in the paddock in case it rains.

If you have the sedan then 4 tires easily fit in the rear seats with the treats parallel (sidewalls facing the doors).

I like the idea of the seat protector and tire totes.

I wonder if removing the rear seat backs is a big job, and if it triggers any faults or codes.

it doesn't, but it wasn't that easy to remove. The seat bottom is quite easy.

In the M2 (which is more narrow and can't fit all 4 wheels standing side by side) I fold down the rear seat backs, put a moving blanket down, and the put two tires laying flat side by side, and then a 3rd one laying on top of those. The 4th goes in the trunk. Still lots of room in the trunk for tools and other stuff.

These are two sets of 285s. I've ran the set on the left on 10.5" wheels. Will I have a fitment issue with the set on the right since I just noticed how much bulkier they are? I'm on a 6" spring fyi.

What wheel offsets? Spacer? Are those tires also taller? The height matters in the context of the spring perch.

AiM solo users, does anyone know how to increase the track width? It's annoying when the device starts a new session if I have an gentle off or pit in to get space away from traffic. Thank you

EDIT:

I found the solution. It can be done directly on the device and without connecting to Race Studio. Here's how to navigate to the setting...

They're both 285/30r18s

V5RS 10.5et40 with 20mm spacer.

I'll test fit tomorrow. Really hoping they're fine as I don't want to be stuck on NT01s next week.

You'll be fine w/ the wider 285 on your x10.5 wheel.

Thanks for the comments.

One thing I didn't think about is that the left set is mounted on the wheels and the right is not. The left set is likely stretched out thereby shrinking the width of the tire when mounted.

I finally got a second set of wheels for track that I swapped at the track before the event and then drove home on. Didn't realize until the ride home that the speedometer doesn't adjust for swapping between 20" down to 18" wheels. Thought I was going 7+ MPH faster than I actually was.

Anyone know how to adjust the speedo when swapping wheel sizes, or do you just get used to recalculating in your head?
