I am confused on the MY2017 and the "new 2017 model" lingo. Can someone help me out with this? The article and video states the all "new 2017" 4 series and M4. Does that mean that every production for M4 and 4 Series made in 2017 that will be the half year 2017 models will be the new style LCI or does it mean 2018 models that are built in 2017 will be the LCI? If that was the case, why do they not call the LCI models 2018 M4/4 Series instead if 2017?
I am asking because I have a 2017 M4 that is about to go into production and had a 4 to 6 months hiatus on no production of M4s being made until now. Will my 2017 M4 have these changes? I noticed the list stating March 2017 as well, if my vehicle starts production next week, given let's say 6 to 8 weeks to finally get to American shores, will it be the new LCI model? Not a bad update. Wish it had a little more than 450 hp, but I guess they didn't want the new M3/M4 to get too close to the GTS. Given the rave reviews that Alfa is getting for the Giulia Quadrifoglio it would've helped though.
I do think the new M emblems on the front seats look worse than their predecessors, but as others have said, maybe they're more durable? I know my passenger seat has a chip on it, which the black should hide a little better. Glad to see the 4 series LCI get the digital gauge cluster as an option. BMW should make this available throughout their lineup, as it really gives the interior a more upscale look that will help the car age better and compete with the likes of Audi virtual cockpit. I'm not jealous one bit that the M3/M4 don't have it though, as our gauges already look good: miles better than the standard 3 and 4 series! |

They are definitely trying to get you to do exactly that. May I suggest the low percentage transmission damage DCT model for your lease as well ?

BMW,
Blue and blue and blue and blue... are nice but yellow, brown, green, beige... Now, another orange, and another blue. I like them but ... ? THE WORLD IS FULL OF COLORS ! Why the sad palette? Are you not sick of white, black, grey and blue? yeah, you can get an M4 Individual but what about the regular 340 for example? Luxury means choices. I am looking at other manufacturers and boy some have gorgeous colors. Sad team in there for sure! BTW, BMW main design presence are the headlights and the new design is a washy washy. Some are struggling to define character, and others lack imagination... Never been a fan of the headlight united with the grill. After that, in some models, the headlamps are too wide so we started to stretch the nostrils... And the line on the hood.... what a dumb idea... Really. Waiting for the new generation, maybe the idiot responsible for this gets replaced by a an individual that can play responsibly with BMW design heritage and obtain something beautiful without destroying BMW uniqueness. The wheel is been around for thousands of years, and still people can come up with gorgeous design... |

I'm placing my 440i drive GC order around September(my lease for one of my cars is coming to end at that time), so it should be out by then. does anyone know when we will see the LCI update on the website where we can actually see the build ?

Why no updraded 3.0 diesel as in G30 5 series. Some of us have lease limitations based on CO2 and need the new lower emissions ?

Interesting changes. Then the new color Snappers Rock Blue is the substitute of Estoril Blue, in the packages M.. I think it is a clone of Long Beach Blue.... And it is not the first time that BMW plays with 2 very similar tones.....Montecarlo Blue and Estoril 2011-2017, Le Mans Blue and Montego Blue 2006 -2008. I think it's the only brand of cars that do that...
Bye Bye Estoril, Bye Bye Montecarlo ... |

I agree to you
maybe I am adapted to non LCI headlights and maybe I am the only one who is missing the 3 side marking bulbs with the grills but on the first look, i don't like the LCI headlights it looks more like an reduction for me the LCI rear lights are looking better i never liked the non LCI with really old school light bulbs and the europe orange design but i am disappointed they are no OLEDs i also don't like inside the glossy black centre console and the chrome applications BMW tries to look superior with all the chrome, but they are changing the seat logos to black? why? because the non LCI got flaws, but looked way better than the LCI so they solved the problem by an easy way and there is no instrument display for an M, but for the normal models?!!! that's really poor |

I'm struggling to see the interior differences for the sedan - the lci sedan already had all that silver trim around the window switches and air vents, and the gloss black centre console
So as far as I can tell it's headlights only for sedan, which are lci 1.0 non-M headlights Edit! Just noticed the black seat badges, they'll look horrible on silver stone seats. I was hoping they updated the hvac controls with the capacitive 5/7 series design since they went through trouble to cover the whole Centre console in the test mules Last edited by domino_z; 01-17-2017 at 06:57 AM.. |
