anyway, to each their own, OP and glad you are happy
Kenny so your saying to go with wider wheels and then put on wider tires? Damn it man I love the stock rims 19s

335is and new m3/4 are totally different when it comes to wheels fitment.

Of course.

But a 9 or 9.5 wheel is the same regardless. Was just saying the ad08 fit large. The rubbing issue was 335is specific

100%, unfortunately. I too like the stock wheels

I want to run 265/285 or 275/295 and ordered custom 9.5/10.5 wheels in order to do so

This sucks lol... Wonder if they will make the stock wheels wider and different offsets.. Even replicas would be fine

1" wider front and rear would be nice, but for now the stock wheels will do. At some point I do hope to find some very light and wider wheels, but I have not seen any at a reasonable price just yet.

Ira, any update on the new tires? Are they a noticeable improvement over stock? I'm planning on going to 295/35 rears in advance of getting a tune and want to see how much improvement people are seeing with tire changes.

295/35 is far too tall they will not fit

U need 295/30 which I would not revcommend with 10" wheels, but they will have no fitment issues

Kenny, unless you think a 295/35 will rub, I think the difference is exactly the same. That is, 295/35 are 2% faster at 60mph and 14mm taller than OEM whereas the 295/30 is 2% slower and 14mm shorter.

That is, the exact same difference in size to stock except the 295/35 is a bit bigger and the 295/30 is a bit smaller. Unless the 295/30 rub (which they likely won't) then the size difference doesn't really matter in terms of the traction system and car. My understanding is you need to stay within 3% +/- of OEM size at 60mph to avoid issues whether you are going slightly larger or slightly smaller.

Having said that, I agree that they are too wide for the 10" rear wheel

They are too tall. And you would also have to run a 275/35 in the front which is also too tall

Width isn't an issue given appropriate wheel offsets

Yeah, I know they are too tall.

What I'm suggesting is that 295/30 is also too short by the exact same margin. 295/30 is 14mm shorter than OEM. So, by the same logic, if you went 295/30 you would need to run a different front to maintain the same stagger too.

A 315/30 is about as close to OEM height (275/35) as you can get in a 30 profile.

The TPG guys are running 305/35 on stock wheels with no problems. There are several posts here about it, including a track run.

Too short is not nearly as much a problem as too tall. This is only because a too tall tire will rub pretty quickly. 7mm is likely enough to rub, especially if you are lowered and especially with a more squared off shoulder.

Shorter front means the speedo is off but you end up with more clearance in the fenderwell.
