For those that change at more frequent interval, do you get the oil change notification reset? Currently my oil change service 7000 miles 9/19 came on/notified dealer. @ 3800 miles feel like it is early to come on, although have been to 4 HDPE events. My manual states only LL-01LE and 0w-30, so was looking to go the independent shop for now, plus don’t have to worry about coding back to stock.

No do not reset the service indicator until it says service is due otherwise you will forfeit the free oil change from the dealer. It goes like this:

1. Oil change by dealer
2. 5k miles later oil change yourself (do not reset indicator)
3.5k miles later (10k since initial dealer change) oil service light comes on and dealer changes oil

If you reset the indicator at step 2 then it will go back to 10k miles until next oil service instead of 5k miles and you will therefore miss a free dealership oil change.

My car has 11k km on it, 2k service done so oil was done 9k km ago. It's showing me 15000km or november 2020 for next service?

Edit: Just phoned service advisor, and he told me approx 25k km or 2 years. I'll probably get the oil changed in the next 1-2k km at an independent shop.

For real? That's nuts. The standard 3 series in the US is 15K miles or 1 year. M is 10K miles or 1 year. The harder you drive it and also stuck in lots of stop and go traffic, the faster the countdown goes. It's not really 10K of actual driving miles.

I almost feel as if it's 2 year interval if you have a service package and 1 year if you dont

Can anyone provide me a TSB stating it should not exceed 12 months or x miles?

Not sure if there is a TSB but you can simply look in idrive. When you reset the oil indicator it will indicate a change is due in 10k miles or one year.

Quick question: Can we change the oil+filter in an no-BMW dealer earlier that the car is demanding, without loosing the validity of the 10 years free service plan? Have anyone done it?

If you are doing track days all the time and using something like an ester based motul oil or are using full E85 I could see this. Otherwise you're wasting money. Hell I'm wasting money at a 5k mile interval according to my UOA's.
