Moving to Clemson, SC. Few questions!
Hi guys! I'm about to move to Clemson,SC there's few question!
1. How's the police officer there (I'm not a very aggressive driver but just wondering!)? 2. I deleted the resonators for the midpipe ( no CEL) will I pass SC emissions? 3. Anybody from Greenville SC have a recommended dealer for M? 4. Is there any Weekly car meet around the area? (Atlanta, Greenville) Thanks for the help! |

south carolina doesn't have vehicle emissions. The cops are...mehh, watch the back roads alot, the love sitting out on south carolina back roads. its usually the state troopers who will give you grief for anything. To my knowledge the only bmw dealership in greenville is century bmw. so you dont have alot of options there lol.

I am also moving to SC from the Chicago area. Looking to move to Greenville. Can't wait to get out of Illinois!
There will prob be far better/more fun roads in SC. I'm looking forward to it. I am trying to figure out this whole personal property tax thing. Do they charge you a tax every year based on what your car is worth? Are you able to get anything back from the state you are leaving? How much does this end up being? Anyone who has moved there have anything they can share? |

Roads are a hell of alot better than chicago. You pay taxes based on the assessed value yearly, you get nothing back from whatever you paid in chicago. It depends, the last car I register in SC was my 16 audi back in 16. But I paid a 15 dollar title fee, 40 registration fee and i wanna say property tax is like 8% of the value. It's actually not too terrible, it's cheaper than registering a vehicle down here in Florida. Also sales taxes for vehicles I'm South Carolina cap out at $300. So whether you purchase a 3000 or a 100000 vehicle your taxes wont be more than 300 bucks lol |

Best of all no yearly inspections and no front license plate. I'd move just for those two reasons alone.
Not gonna lie though, the roads aren't the best nor the smoothest. Low gas tax equals low road budgets. |

welcome to SC...as a big city transplant(New York) I can tell you the environment is a lot friendlier to cars...people are nicer, roads are better and the weather is better all year around. ATL - caffeine and exotics every quarter...caffeine and octane every month...Huge turnout every time.

Op, I moved from leesburg, va to Clemson and now Live in Charleston. Only time I ever got any kind of ticket in Clemson it involved three people on my moped soaking wet. A few spots on campus they do hangout (shoot me a DM and ill send you a list)
You can find some great driving roads headed west and up by the experimental forest. Century BMW in Greenville is great. Not sure about any meet-ups or anything in the area. I imagine they have quite a few in Greenville. We do have a pretty solid cars and coffee on Saturdays in Charleston if you ever find yourself out this way. Also, Anyone looking to relocate to South Carolina shoot me a DM. I help people relocate from all over. -Go Tigers- |

hope your move was smooth man. I'm actually moving from Seattle to Atlanta (Marietta) and was wondering how the scene is out there
I'm originally from LA where the scene is huge with plenty of shops around. Seattle it was nearly nonexistent.. it also doesnt look like theres much posting activity here either which isnt too reassuring! |
