Are these hood gaps normal on my m4 (left vs right)?
I’ve noticed that the gaps between the hood and both fenders are not exactly the same. Where the corner edge of the fender meets the hood on the passenger side is more narrow than the driver side. See pics. This is causing me major anxiety and now I feel like I need to get the car checked out for collision history. Does anyone else have similar issues with their m4s from the factory?
Picture 3 is the one in question where it looks too narrow and picture 4 is the driver side which to me looks normal. I did measure it with paper and pen markings and compared both sides and it does seem the passenger side is 1mm-2mm more narrow than the driver side Thanks |

There is no way that would pass the gap test at the plant.

Pics?
Looking at your old posts it seems you had a small fender bender in the front. Were these gaps there before your fender bender? Last edited by F82ny; 09-19-2019 at 08:02 PM.. |

It's normal. I work for BMW and all the different models we have here have large gaps. This is directly from the factory. Even my F80 has gaps. I just live with it.

I bought my M4 brand new and I do have the same kind of uneven gaps on my trunk.
I did know this was something the dealer could adjust. Has anyone taken their cars to the dealership for adjustments? If so, how did it come out? I wonder if this is worth it... |
