Are these hood gaps normal on my m4 (left vs right)?

I’ve noticed that the gaps between the hood and both fenders are not exactly the same. Where the corner edge of the fender meets the hood on the passenger side is more narrow than the driver side. See pics. This is causing me major anxiety and now I feel like I need to get the car checked out for collision history. Does anyone else have similar issues with their m4s from the factory?

Picture 3 is the one in question where it looks too narrow and picture 4 is the driver side which to me looks normal. I did measure it with paper and pen markings and compared both sides and it does seem the passenger side is 1mm-2mm more narrow than the driver side

Thanks

There is no way that would pass the gap test at the plant.

Gaps on the F8x platform are horrible from the factory.
I had my bumper, hood, fender adjusted after delivery.

Really? Did yours vary from side to side like mine? Was yours similar to mine?

Yes sir, nothing really new. I saw other brand new cars with the same issues. Most people just don't care. Since my car is white it drove me nuts...lol

Take a look below right side hood, bumper

That definitely isn't an untouched photo. Everything looks smoothed over.

So you saying they put the uneven gaps in on purpose?
Just take a look at some GTS how bad the cf hood is. Or compare the color mismatch to the fenders on gray cars. Just saying.

Anyone else notice these gap issues with their m4 and inconsistency from left to right?

^ it’s definitely there. It goes from a narrow gap at the edge and then gets wider. It also has a wider gap on the other side

Looking at your old posts it seems you had a small fender bender in the front. Were these gaps there before your fender bender?

Good eye, I can pick up the slight ripple and thickness in the paint chip.

All a paint meter does is measure thickness, if the panel was sanded (which is visible in the pics) a paint meter will normally show the same results.

My CS hood is not aligned.

I won't take it to the dealer as they will fuck up something else.

Happy to live it.

It's normal. I work for BMW and all the different models we have here have large gaps. This is directly from the factory. Even my F80 has gaps. I just live with it.

I bought my M4 brand new and I do have the same kind of uneven gaps on my trunk.
I did know this was something the dealer could adjust.

Has anyone taken their cars to the dealership for adjustments? If so, how did it come out?
I wonder if this is worth it...

Yes sir I was. Weird thing is that I noticed it almost immediately after I got it back from the shop. However I used to a deck of playing cards to measure the gap and compare it with a friend's MW M4 and the difference was negligible but it looked very different. I don't know if it's my OCD imagining the gap or not. Perhaps it's the color difference. I don't know

EDIT. I'll try to post a pic later
