Don't believe everything you read on these forums or the opinion of others. Most people don't know crap of what they are talking about...

Just bought an EasyCare 5years/100k miles/$500 deductible yesterday. My car only has 24k miles and my commute to work is 100miles/day. Will get rid of the beater and use the M4 instead. Going to drive it to the ground.

Retiming, or a 1% of getting a catastrophic engine failure.

The DCT tranny is pretty bulletproof, look at the old tech with the e92. and anything else.. if was to fail , sourcing a conponent and getting an indy shop to fix it.. 1000$ -3000$ ?

There's tons of 997 Turbo porsche out there running around with 60-100k... and Porsche engineering , or design for that matter .. is far more complex.

Like I said, my only concern would be a crank hub.
Crank hub is my biggest concern on this car because it seems to be random. How much does it cost to retime a SCH?

My warranty expires this month ending the 4 year period.

I just took the car in for the last free service.

I had zero problems with the car.

My car is tuned and took off the tuned before the last service. Told my SA my car was tuned and he suggested to take off the tune before bring it in.

Installing a crank hub kit.

General info on extended warranties:

https://www.consumerreports.org/car-...-for-your-car/

https://www.creditkarma.com/auto/i/e...-car-warranty/

Remember if you decide to tune or mod, your extended warranty might be voided. Best to check with the warranty company.

Since I absolutely love the car being tuned along with some suspension mods (to me it is a big difference in performance), I will never look back and set $$ aside for any repair bills that I did not have to spend for an extended warranty.

Out of curiosity, what did that run you?

I have 2 weeks left on my factory warranty.

I'm going to be in this position. I plan on buying my car off lease.

I haven't had a single issue in 40K miles.

I need to do some research on the aftermarket warranties.

Some people are into insurance, some people are not.

Personally, I nearly bought insurance for my insurance. Wait, or is that what my umbrella policy is?

One of my cars has an extended warranty. The other one does not. Problem is that the one without the extended warranty is much much much more to repair and to maintain.

failed logic on that one.

I highly recommend Troy at Fidelity, prices that are the most competitive by far. There are 3 deductible options and 3 different plans.

EasyCare is so much more affordable compared to Fidelity, especially if you have an M4. People should check out both if they are looking at warranty.

I likely have more miles on my daily driven M4 than the average joe. Rocking 65k miles and all I've had to take care of is normal maintenance. That extended warranty is a rip off. This car is reliable.

Did you guys read the actual contracts and compare the two? Are the coverage's the same? I am leaning towards fidelity primarily because they have been the underwriters for most BMW, Audi, etc. warranties.

I concur, anybody looking at extended warranty should shop around and check out the BMW warranty via Checa, Fidelity warranty via Troy and EasyCare. Once you make these phone calls, deciding what makes the most sense is an easy decision.

If you don't go with a warranty, be sure to check your intercooler reservoir on every gas fill up!

IMO thats an overreaction. I check every once in a while, maybe a month but not every time I fill gas. I would wear out my hood lock

And you can’t open that when the car is hot.

Why not? I've never had an issue, I don't think it's the same steaming broiling hot mess like engine coolant right?
