Need repair shop or replacement lip

Deep pothole in Route 33 by Tinton Falls premium outlets. Busted up my front carbon fiber lip and scraped my front right wheel. I don't even have plates on the car yet WTF!

Can anyone tell me how much or replacement cost for the front lip is? It looks like factory.[IMG][/IMG]

Now I understand why NJ roads suck.

Lol my car ran over a huge puddle thought it was serious. But it was not. Heard lips on eBay can be cheaper than cf lips. Because ppl break the lips alot.

I'm going a local repair guy on Monday and see it he can crew the lip back it's it's spot and see if there is any under body damage. The right front wheel bottomed out , luckily didn't get a flat or bent the rim.

If it's not salvageable...just buy a cheap CF lip.

Jersey has some shit ass roads, so if you DD your car, compound that with winter coming to tear up the roads more..its a mute point to buy OEM

Agree! CF is done once cracked unless you want to paint it after repair (...IF it's hairline cracks and not completely broken fibers).

Any recommendations for the OEM look?

Can't you just claim under insurance? That way you get all oem parts back in the car

You mentioned paint? Its the carbon fiber pattern.. I was thinking of using a epoxy to put the fiber back together if possible and put a 6D type carbon fiber film type tape over it.. only if it's salvageable..

It's not going to ever look good enough bro. Trust me. Either paint it after repair or get a new one. Check the classified section.

I'm the second owner of the vehicle, previous owner has hooked the car up with CF bits..

Insurance claim is not recommended.. i'd rather pay out of pocket if i can.

Was just thinking that your insurance company can counter sue the city for pot hole damage but if you'd rather not go that way, then that's up to you.
Best of luck, though. Hope your car wil be back in good shape soon

problem is proving it was a pot hole. Been there, takes forever, sometimes the hassle isnt worth the money in the end.

Buy aftermarket and a cheaper version. Its going to happen again sooner than later whether its you, someone else, the roads, etc.

However, OEM looks the best, but is also most expensive

yeah, that's the bummer.. hem on bmwpartonline was $1300.

RKP was like $1k

I didn't see a cheaper alternative that looks remotely decent.

Fixed it back up with drywall screws and slim door plate. I had to butcher the carbon fiber lip from the bottom. Since I'm the second owner of this car, previous owner sheered this lip of multiple times as seeing all the exposure on the inside of the lip and extra screw into the bumper. If this breaks going forward, I will just replace with after market or the two piece lip kit.

I will post some pics of that damage and fixed in a few.

So ya I’m in the same boat. One shop I talked to said $200 they could fix and paint it, obvs no more carbon

Another said he would look at materials and lmk.

Anybody know if this can be repaired? It’s like a $1k lip. Damage isn’t terrible but would like to have a fresh one

If I can’t get it restored to original beauty, I was thinking maybe have it repaired and then maybe there’s a nice gloss carbon wrap out these days that would work?

Or, going ebay/amazon, or, buying a decent lip for like $900

Anybody try this one

I had an epiphany. Maybe if I cannot find someone to repair my lip for $200-$300, I’ll just have it paint matched. Anybody got some pics of a paint matched front lip or gone this route?
