From Chrome to Black
New M4 owner here and I wanted to see if anyone has DIY'd the chrome pieces to black to match the comp look (Kidney grills, side scoops etc.) I ordered the back badge already but I wanted to see if this could be a straight forward process or should I purchase them?
Thanks in advanced |

You can also DYI with your choice of finish black wrap and wrap them. Very cheap but limited to wraps skills. $20 and your time. Good luck OP

I have done these mods. Car looks better like comp pack in my opinion. Straight forward DIYs. Congrats on your M4 and welcome to the forum. GL.

Buy them. The problem with painting the pieces, any chips will result in chrome marks which will be super obvious against a black piece. Wrapping will I'm sure fair better. Best is just buying pieces that have been made with black plastic.

Paint and wrapping will never look as good. For the grill you don't need the entire grill, just get the grill surrounds they are easy to replace. Also if by black badges you mean colored roundels, please reconsider - just my opinion but the bmw badge is sacred and needs to be left blue and white I think it really cheapens the look of the car and it's better left to Honda's and Hyundai's |
