If I wanted a car just for the track, there are a lot of other options out there for a lot less money. To each his own... Last edited by jpdchicago; 01-26-2017 at 02:31 PM.. |

Of course, what do u know? I think my stock M235i exhaust sounds better than the stock M4 exhaust. But sometimes, late at night, I hear the siren call of the aftermarket..." |

Looks exactly like the car I sat in back in December and have pictures of down here in SoCal with an asking price of about $209K......

Also, look at the Mustang GT350/R's engine. A far more bespoked engine (and way better sounding to many people) than the M4 GTS. One of the best sleeper performance cars, has been discontinued. That would be the Chevy SS. Let's just say that the Americans have drastically improved in quality and performance and have still kept their value per horsepower. Whereas the Germans, BMW in perticular, have made small increments, yet their prices have skyrocketed compared to what they offer. |

No worries ... enjoy your GTS.. whether you want to drive it to work daily...or make it a museum piece on a rotating platter in your basement. It's your car! I am going to have to check you on your DAILY comment.. I see that you are in chi-town.. I was born and raised in Indiana and I daily drove my E30 M3 in the winter... So... since you say yours is a DAILY.. Post up a photo of your car in the SNOW.... I'll give you mad props Until then.... I certainly agree.. to each their own indeed!! my idea of a track car is a car one where there is no passenger seat, no radio.. No sound deadening.. and barely even a dash... unfortunately for me.. .. there are two many people that want a combination luxury vehicle / track car. Hopefully BMW doesn't cater to the LUXO folks on an M2 GTS.. Last edited by M3 Adjuster; 01-26-2017 at 07:55 PM.. |

As I mentioned in several other posts the gts will be my daily from March to December (those tires are not ideal in sub zero temps). The salt actually bothers me more than the snow for a car I intend to keep for many years to come. My daily drivers for the past 12 years have been an e46 (sold with over 100,000 miles) and an f80 (winter tires sets for both of course). I must have missed 5 days of driving in those 12 years due to real blizzards. I reluctantly borrowed my wife's car on those days. For the gts, I am drawing the line and I bought a small SUV for those 3 months of sub zero temps (got the gts only 3 weeks ago). I will be happy to keep you posted on the mileage and the daily driving experience (potholes included) starting in March. It is too great a car not to enjoy it everyday by then. Who knows, by next winter I might not be able to spend one day without it and will get new winter wheels and tires for it. |

Truth be told sound wise, from inside the car with windows up, it actually sounds awesome in sport mode and even sport+. From outside the car or with the windows down, esp. in sport+, it can be a bit obnoxious. Sport+ is definitely not the mode for driving through the neighborhood or rolling into work unless you want some dirty looks .
Still loving the car! |

a : occurring, made, or acted upon every day Awesome on all .. However ... don't fool yourself .. A three season vehicle is not a daily driver and of course I suspected as such ! Props to you for driving it often! Good call on the SUV as TRULY daily driving an M4 GTS (as in it literally being ones only vehicle ) would be pretty hardcore! My 1M is a combination garage queen and track car. Out cars are rare ! I'm more comfortable in mine on track than on streets with unpredictable drivers. I also would get way too many tickets ! It was pressed into duty on the day of the photos because my daughter had curbed her car so badly it had a case of " stanky Leg .. " according to her friends and she ended up using my daily driver SUV. Thank goodness there is no salt here.. she might have ended up walking .. The Michelin Supersports actually were fine in the cold temps ( although clearly not their element ) and fortunately the snow was light. |
