M3CS vs G80 m3
Hi, have the ability to either take over cs lease or get new m3. This is going to be my 3rd car, meant to be weekend/fun toy so daily driver isn't that important for me. The lease terms im getting on G80 is a little bit more, but marginal for consideration purposes at about $120-160/month more. CS does have carbon brakes and about 15 month lease. Nice short lease. I love driving, proper spirited driving and plan to do some track days probably as well.
Was thinking of enjoying the CS, then maybe swapping into G80 M3 when Awd is out and lease rates have come down and I can actually check out the G80 in person. Or should I just get the RWD G80 now? What do you think? Posted this in G80 forum, but figured I would get advise from actual f80 Cs owners here. |

Biased of course, but I would not get rid of my M3CS for a G80. Everyone will defend the decision they made...just make your own. Either way, since you are looking at leasing, it will be short lived (in case you are not happy).

The F80 CS is very nice, I have one. I'd get that, enjoy it for a while, then you can get the G8X when the time is right.

I’d go for the CS.. to your point, you’ll be waiting a few months on the G80, and even longer for an AWD version if that’s of legitimate interest. A 15 month lease is just long enough to enjoy it without getting bored. Should hopefully be more favorable to move into a G80 around that time too.

Styling alone - definitely CS.
My prediction is that G80 M3 will be a little faster and more luxurious but less precise, not as tossable or tail happy and less raw - M5 light. |

CS
usually the end of the line CS/comp/limerock cars are better weekend rides than the next generation's base model. wait for the g80 refresh in 3 years to see if they fix the bumper

For the flex,g80 cause it's new and 100k$ usually the first people driving the newest cars got Alot of coin.
For what's better, f80. F80 looks nicer the only thing g80 got on the f80 is the interior.

M3CS is one of the best looking cars BMW ever made and I'm guessing it will have much better driving dynamics/DCT than the G. If you care about resale/cost of ownership etc, it has already lost the biggest part of the depreciation curve.
G80, not a looker obviously in a lot of our opinions. If you care about straight line speed, selectable AWD, drift meters and what clothes you are wearing, this is the car for you. You will most likely not get much of a discount and will be hammered on depreciation. Last edited by minn19; 01-07-2021 at 09:24 AM.. |

M3 CS by all means. The G8x cars are supremely ugly, and the CS will be a lot more fun to drive.

By the time your CS lease is up you'll know enough about the G80 to know if it's worth getting or not.
Get the CS then the g80 when the short CS lease is up. Also, it's fun to own two new gens of a car like the m3 back to back to see the differences to compare & contrast. I don't hate the g80 tbh until I drive one I won't know, but I'd still get the CS for the time being. |

Wow, just saw the new four series for the first time in the wild as I was coming home from UPS. I noticed it behind me in the rear view mirror, and the first thing that popped into my mind was a blackened, dead Christmas wreath on the front of the car. I had to do a double take before realizing that’s really it, I’ve finally seen one!
What a horribly disgusting car, it’s hideous! I tried to slow down to get a better look but the car wouldn’t catch up. I’ll just pretend he was embarrassed to be seen in the company of the gorgeous F82 lol! What a disaster that thing is. It looks like a black hole coming at you! |
