That’s what gives the car its unique tone, for better or worse.

This is an unconventional way to change the tone that no OEM would intentionally do. In the end, the most efficient exhaust is as short and straight as possible. It’s just that since there’s really no room to extend the shorter downpipe 14 inches before the flange to the exhaust, the TGM system makes both paths as straight as possible while adding the length back to the shorter side before merging. I’ve attached a pic for your reference.
I had the same question.

So if "ELE" actually means an equal length pipe distance - that's it,
Why hadn't anyone thought of this before?

Cheers!

Because the most efficient exhaust is as short and straight as possible. There's really no reason to do this other than for the sound benefit. As you can see from the photos, it's awkward to package this, so nobody ever thought to do it before is my guess.

There is the valve on it, so it either goes through the back box or bypasses it.

What about the different metallic shielding for the added curved tubing at the end, with the little island (cone) in the middle?

Is this included with the exhaust?

I'm going to be honest, I stared at the photo and I have absolutely no idea what you're referring to. All I can say is everything you see in the photo is either on the car already or part of the exhaust. There's nothing extra that I added to my car other than the exhaust itself.

If I had to guess, I think he's referring to the heat-shield under the muffler. Since the new can isn't as big as stock, the shadows around the exhaust tubing that feed into the muffler make it look like the heat-shield is form fit around them.
Basically it's an optical illusion given the different dimensions. Either way, the setup is sick and sounds amazing.
Thanks again for going the extra mile with this man

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I like the sound of AA midpipes + Remus better than this.

Good thing there's other options available The reason this exists is to get as far away from that tone as possible.

Valvetronic Designs seems like having " NO M TAX" exhaust system on pre order now.

Alright man, we get your point. I opened this thread to keep the topic specifically to the TGM system. It's one thing to post your opinion (which I respect), and it's another thing entirely to start posting other systems on a thread dedicated to a specific exhaust. You want to talk about Valvetronic? There's a whole thread for that, or you can start your own.

Everybody is well aware of the other equal length offerings at this point (due to the main equal length thread). I see no point in muddying up my thread because of it. Respectfully, I ask that you keep your posts in this thread to TGM, otherwise post it in the main equal length thread. Thanks.

Well, after following the original Equal Length Exhaust thread and listening to exhaust clip after exhaust clip, I have to concede that the TGM system absolutely sets the bar. Some of the others are damn close, but for some reason the TGM systems exhaust note just sounds more refined to my ears.

The howl at wide-open is nothing short of an aural symphony compared to the stock system, and let's be completely honest here: that low-down growl during deceleration is just plain sexy. If it sounds this good on video, I can't wait to hear it in person.

Ordered today with the Black Chrome tips.

My wallet may be lighter, but that "giddy as a school-girl" feeling when I finally get the opportunity to throttle down on the blacktop will be worth it.

Congrats guys!

Obviously we still have some other EQL systems yet to be released but from what I've heard so far, this TGM is the best sounding.

Well you’re obviously a man of impeccable taste my friend
I’m sure you’re just as psyched as I am to get it all hitched up and listen to those equal pipes belt out a melody of badassitude.

Has TGM reached out to you with an ETA yet?

I'm guessing this will still pass smog since only secondary cats have been modified/deleted?

The latest I’ve heard is that they were going to do some fitment and sound tests to a catless car last Friday and should start shipping systems this coming week.

Depends on the state and tests performed obviously. But for simple OBD2 tests, yes it will.

Hey all,

Just updated the first post to include dyno pulls on catless downpipes. I'll link it in this post too in case you don't want to go back to the first post:
