I agree with you completely - and I'm likely a good bit older than you are! Personally, I'd be worried about my kid/grandkid driving something like that more so with the reduced frontal visibility as well as flouting the law. Since the parents' name is likely on the title, Mom and Dad may well get another ticket, and repeat offenders are not given any slack, regardless of whether or not they get a compliance-by date from the court.

Wondering if any Charlotte members are switching to winters anytime soon? And know of a good place to do it? Most places I call have no idea what this is and want to charge like $70-100 for what's basically a tire rotation.

I live in an apartment building with an indoor garage on summers, with an extra set of winter performance. Left all my tools at parents house where I normally did it myself in their garage.

I live just east of Raleigh and have never had winter tires on my M3. That said, I'm retired and don't commute nor do I drive in bad weather.

Anyone know, have experience on whether Leith BMW (Raleigh, NC) or Hendrick BMW of Southpoint (Durham, NC) participates in CCA discounts for parts (and service)?

Yes, Leith BMW is a great supporter of the Club! Not sure about Southpoint, as the Triangle Area sometimes meets at Leith as a starting point for monthly events.

No - so far, I've only had 1 oil service there, and I bought the 3-year oil-change package for $199 for my wife's 2-series. Then 5 months later, we traded that car for a new one. We did get a substantial discount on the new car, though.

Any local charlotte clubs that members help out with wrench work?

I used to have a c7 and was part of the local corvette club and we used to do regular monster garages for bolt ons...one guy even had a lift we could do exhausts.

Would be great to be able to meet a few local guys and do some of the basics on my car that I have no idea on....always enjoy the work but I don't have the tools nor am I comfortable enough to try on my own

Long shot but anyone have a spare front 437m wheel? My shop put my new mps4s on for an HPDE event at VIR this coming weekend (december 10-11) and noticed one front wheel was bent. trying to source something online this quick is tough. anyone have one lying around or a front or whole set that I could buy? would even consider all 19 inch options as just got new mps4s in stock tire sizes i could move over to a good new set of wheels. TIA folks!

I recommend you contact Rimguard at 4480 Poole Rd (https://www.rimguardrimrepair.com). They straightened two of my 437M wheels when I accidently ran over a blob of asphalt entering 540 from Knightdale Blvd. They're reasonably priced and took care of them while I waited.

If you do, then ask for Frank (i hope he's stiill there, last visit i did was on Dec 2021). He's the top tech there and does the entire Cary automall so he's trusted by lots of people. He did both my wheels on e46 m3, came out, well, unnoticeable, which is how you want the outcome to be.

They fixed my wheel and I had a great weekend at VIR... until I realized my intercooler was leaking because top coolant resivoir needed a top off after every heat. I have a CSF one I (and my cousin mainly) am installing next weekend! Thanks for the help!

Sounds good - I'm out in the Wendell Falls area, where "The Farmhouse Cafe" is located. A number of our events originate from there. We had a car show for the Triangle Area members here this past October.
