I bet that kid who crashed was the type who'd say to Mustang/Camaro drivers that certain crashes wouldn't have happened if it were his F80. How dumb. The only ones who sound dumber are those who say that it would not have happened in a G80 Xdrive. Really???
Unless he was in an Agera...he wasn't recovering from that mistake. |

Dang. This video took off nationwide. I bet his local high school is having fun with it. his girlfriend probably dumped him. Right before summer too. Brutal.
And this is on the internet forever to humble him every day. Tick tock, sucka.

Quite interesting how all the cars involved here are all BMW and shows why you shouldnt speed..
I guess the 7 series owner that was getting ticketed by the officer now knows why he shouldnt speed... Z4 also got lucky because he didnt speed (likely...) |

What you said. What I said. If he was never given that car. If he never drove that day. If the cop hadn't stopped that 7 series there. Etc. Etc.

I heard that a small kid on a bike clipped the M3 near the median which caused him to lose control. Back rear was also 1psi down. This should all be covered by warranty.

Honestly, G80 M xDrive would have been slightly more resistant to this happening and able to recover a little later into this shitshow due to a new lateral dynamics manager that is more than just an academic concept - you can feel it work really well in the real world. But all of that would not have significantly changed the outcome for this driver. He may have crashed a little past the cop car - and that may have obviously made a huge difference to the 7 series driver and the cop SUV. Lateral dynamics manager for enthusiasts to learn about:

Not thread related, but just saw this and it's without a doubt the best Mustang video I've ever seen. I had to share it.

Wow, it was so close that the officer’s hand literally touches the hood. I’m guessing he slammed on the brakes and caused the car to rotate - I’m not so sure about DSC being off as I doubt even DSC could’ve corrected for such extreme conditions. Glad it wasn’t worse!

I was about to say the same thing as well. Fyi, I made a post on this in the F30 Forum yesterday,....and next thing you know,...it's hitting front page here, the major networks and evening news.

That F80 is totaled... the kid's parents will probably buy him a G80 to replace it.

M BMWs are track cars that we drive them on public roads. Because we can, and we love the way they drive, sound and look, but at the same time they can be extremely dangerous machines, my last M5 was so powerful that I never be able to use more than 50 percent on the power on the public roads, heck that, I couldn’t use full power of M5 on the track in M school ( I know, it’s not a real track!)
The point is jumping to a M car without knowing your limits can be fatal, you can easily stay “behind” in a matter of seconds. |

Use waze/google navigation maps when speeding on unfamiliar roads to see turns and bends up ahead and adjust accordingly. Regardless it was wreckless and way beyond the vehicle capabilities. Hope all are ok.

I saw this on national news last night. I thought it was seeing the cop that caused him to brake and loose control. The cop was really lucky, good reaction saved him either way. 3 cars destroyed, the 7 is a mess. Doubt the police cruiser looks too good now either.
My son is 17 and respects that he is not ready for a BMW let alone an M3! 120 in a 50 is criminal.

IDK about VA, but up here, wrekless driving at 17 basically means you are unassurable for a long time...
400-500 hp at 17 is just asking for it. I had plenty of fun with a 2.slow vw jetta.
