My man! Appreciate this. Going to set my helmet up the same way for Watkins Glen.

Helmet mounted worked pretty well. I might aim down a bit more to get my hands.

Feel free to critique my line, I'm still a beginner.

Where/how are you guys mounting the external GPS? Also, for those using GoPro, are you using remote control with the phone, or manually recording and using automatic sync afterwards?

The XGPS160A that I got came with a rubber case that I sandwich between my dash and windshield. It doesn't move at all. As far as GoPro goes, it's connected to RaceChrono. You just have to swipe right and hit record once you begin you session.

Ditto, I use Racechrono to start the recording, but I have found that I have to sync manually. Is there a way to do it automatically?

I've been using the iphone GPS, with mixed results depending on the location. Do you have to do any syncing of the GPS data or is it as easy as the OBDii data?

So I believe there's a fix to that which I haven't honestly looked into yet. My first two track days with the app, GoPro and RaceChrono sync'd perfectly with no additional effort or editing. Now, GoPro is around 1 second off from the mark so I have to manually fix it as well. But I do recall reading that this is purely user error and that it can be fixed. The GPS and the OBD2 start recording together immediately so those two should always be sync'd.

Yup, all my footage is 1.1 seconds off. Easy enough to sync once I figured out that it's consistent, but still...

I'll try to look into it this weekend and post the fix as soon as I figure it out.

Just switched from Harry’s. No comparison. Race Chrono Pro is infinitely better. Mainly in ease of use.

On Android, RaceChrono Pro all day long over Harry's. RaceChrono is just SOOOO much easier to use. I own licenses for both, tried Harry's first for half a weekend, HATED it, then switched to RaceChrono Pro and have been happy with it ever since. My track buddies with iPhones had much better luck with Harry's than I did, on Android however it was a lesson in futility.
