Valvetronic Motor Replacement

As the title eludes, I’m thinking of taking on replacing my valvetronic motor. It looks pretty complicated from the videos I’ve seen but I’m interested in the challenge.

My main question is, is their programming needed post replacement? I’ve seen contradictory information of the motor recalibrating at start up and one saying it needs to be reprogrammed. Any info would be great. Thanks!
