BMW F80 M3 Renders Preview Next Gen 2014 M3 Sedan
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW F80 M3 Renders Preview Next Gen 2014 M3 Sedan Now that the next generation F80 M3 sedan has been both spied (photos / video) and confirmed, the natural next question is what will it look like? We've taken up the task of previewing what the F80 may look like in our new set of renders. We received insider input on these renders and the feedback is that these images are generally a good representation of the next M3 sedan. The new distinctive headlight-grille area design is straight from our F30 renders and uncovered spy pics. The M styled bumper resembles the new F10 M5, which the F80 M3 is said to be a smaller version of. The F80 M3 will receive sportier mirrors compared to the F30. We also received some insider input on the wheels rendered in these images. Rumored powerplant configurations have been all over the map - from turbo V6, to modified I6 N54, to modified S63 (engine from X6M/X5M). With the recently discovered BMW V6 turbo engine patents and first M3 spy video however, don't be surprised if the next M3 arrives with a motor which truly represents BMW M's philosophy of sticking to no dogmas - i.e. turbo V8 in the new M5. In other words, don't be surprised should the F80 M3 arrives with a turbocharged V6. According to a reliable source, the BMW F80 M3 Sedan will likely have its market launch in the second half of 2013, uncharacteristically before the F82 M4 coupe. Expect the F80 M3 to debut at the 2013 IAA in Frankfurt in production form. the front 'm style bumper' looks a bit awkward too bulgy, but in general looks great!

I like the look of the e9x m3's front end better because it's more symetrical.
I dont like the grilles & mid opening of the front bumper on this F80 m3.

Wouldn't exist as it is no longer necessary.
Nice render, though I'm holding on for what Jon Sibal comes up with. His renders are usually very accurate. Hasn't wild speed missed the mark a few times? That said, the F8x/F3x is a stylistically simple car in comparison to the outgoing models, so perhaps this is quite an accurate depiction. I would disagree with the way the headlights will be represented; they will likely be softer with the side grille less pronounced.

I don't think it will have it this time round since the car will be a tri-turbo V6. Twin turbo, tri turbo, does not matter to me as long as this car could perform well. I really hope a hood scoop will be incorporated to help cool off those snails more...
Looks good nonetheless!

The power dome, to me, is just as significant on an //M car as the quad exhaust and rear dif. It was on the E46, inline-6 as well. I was disappointed that the new M5 didn't have it, and will be disappointed if the F80 doesn't. It's SO much meaner.
But hey, it looks good regardless. The hood in the render looks great.

Well, without the dome, I am guessing a lot of aftermarket companies will make one. Good business for them. |
