What are people doing in this Covid virus environment?

Still have winter tires in CT. Although not driving a lot, it is my daily driver.

Did anyone consider having someone come to house to swap wheels? Just take to dealer?

Any outside of the box ideas?

Are you just swapping out your wheels (with snow tires) or do you need a tire change? If you need tires swapped, it would be pretty difficult for them to do it at your house, unless you have about $40k in equipment to mount/dismount tires and a road-force balance machine.

My dealer came to the house, took the car, swapped my tires, and drove it back. It was my X2 and not my M4 , but same situation.

My BIL used a mobile tire installer recently who had all the equipment in his work van, from the mounting to balancing machine (whether or not it was a road-force capable machine is another question). Pretty neat, for a potential contact-free service for the current environment.

Stay home. No need to expose yourself to people leaving germs around your house. Even if you eat through your tires who cares - life is more important.

My next door neighbor just died of COVID-19. Mid 40s. Super healthy and athletic. 3 kids.

That is sobering. Sorry for your loss.

I agree, I’ll not be allowing anyone else to even sit in my car so all wheel changes and oil changes are DIY until this thing is over.

FYI, my local dealership is offering complementary pick-up and drop-off of your car. Might be worth checking if yours is doing the same.

Tommy sorry to hear. Stay safe

Edited original post, just swap wheels with summer tires. Just don't want anyone else driving car right now.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Reached out to a mobile tire installer. Forgot about that.

No way! I had no idea they had those.

I have my winter set installed right now. I'm leaving those on .

I would rather destroy a older pair of winters that are a few seasons old vs bolting my summer set .

I've driven that Car twice in the past month .

My installer comes to my house and swaps out my summer/winter wheels. Got them done this week. He used to have his Hunter mounting and balancing setup in a trailer so he was completely mobile but just has them in his shop now.

Finally got summer wheels and tires swapped.

Used Stamford Mobile Tire Service.
https://stamfordmobiletireservice.com/

Alberto (?) was very professsional took time and care. Talked cars and racing with him during swap.

Highly recommended.
