so sorry to hear ! I'm also always afraid when I park the car somewhere, someone scratching it or breaking off something - just because it looks new and isn't seen on the streets too often (yet). authentic bastards !!!

sorry to hear what a prick! Hoping to find some sunglasses and sell them for 50 bucks such a low life! Same thing happened once to me unfortunately I had many valuable stuff inside the car..but took my lesson and now I park only under good light or somewhere I can see it clearly. Actually, very often I leave my car at some gas stations since they have cameras etc

Don't leave karma to chance. It might be too late to dust for any fingerprints, but I would try to find out if there were any CCTV cameras recording in the area that night and investigate with the police.
However, unless it was an accident (i.e. baseball) the kind of people that do this type of stuff have nothing to lose and are quite dangerous in that aspect. The best thing for you to do is learn from this event and perhaps park in a safer place next time (well lit street / parking garage). There will always be people out there that want to steal or become jealous of other people's nice things and mess with them. The best thing you can do is to try to prevent this from happening as much as possible. I live in a condo with parking underground, one precaution I will be taking is to install a small camera above the car to record motion just in case my neighbor accidentally bumps me or someone intentionally bumps me. |

Really sorry this happened. For what it's worth, a piece of debris probably flipped up by truck hit my rear passenger window and the whole thing shattered while I was driving 70 mph, freaked me out big time (had me thinking initially was it a bullet?..but it wasn't)…took my car to the dealer, had me set up with a loaner within 15 mins and cost to repair was not that high..considering the convenience of the dealer + loaner and they did a very good job vacuuming everything out of the seat rails, etc and car was ready the next day…probably worthwhile to pay up a little and have everything done right.

What's crazy is about an hour before i found the car broken into I had my wallet in the car & told my girlfriend that i feel uncomfortable and I'm gonna go get it.
She said that everything was fine and that i should just leave it but i insisted to go and get it... Thank god for that! |

Bummer dude. Very common in big cities doesn't matter what type of car. Happened to friends of mine in Philly, San Fran and NY all in the last 5 years. I never would park a nice car on the street in a major city at night. Perps could do it in front of ten other people and no one will do crap about it. Lesson learned use a garage or a lot with an attendant or drive a beater and leave the doors unlocked windows down.

Your gf is proof that some people are just more prone to bad luck.

You leave your wallet in your car? Holy chit that's playing with fire?
Sucks to see but insurance will fix it up and you'll be back on the road. It's just rubber, glass and metal and as long as you're ok, that's all that matters. Your material possessions can/will be fixed.

I was in a leased vehicle (Infiniti) and when I returned it, it was apparent that I had a ton of glass still in the door. Make sure you get that door panel off and have the glass removed. I didn't do this and you could hear the glass every time the door closed. |

That's ridiculous I am sorry OP. People should be able to drive whatever they want, wherever they want with no worry. Idealist thinking I suppose. I hope you continue to enjoy the car!

I feel your pain. Happened to me years ago, stole the radar detector. Happened to my wife's 128i some loser decided to key her car just for shits and grins. Don't let it get you down, you just have to feel sorry for their sub-human genetics. Just get it fixed and have a few frosty ones with friends.
