Anyone upgraded a base sound system?

I think mine has the base sound system as there are no tweeters and it sounds very weak.
Has anyone upgraded theirs?
I have been looking at under seat subs, but I don't think mine has an amp, so not sure what to do.

I've got HK & just upgraded my under-seat subs.

Talk to a good ICE dealer, there's loads of options for improving the basic system - All for less than speccing the HK in the first place. Will probably sound better too...

What did you do... Just the subs? To what and how much?

I've just bought the entire stage 1/2 BAVSOUND upgrade for HK - eager to get that in the car.

I forgot to ask what was actually in that? Just replacement speakers all round, or amplifiers too?

Yeah, I just did the subs. I can live with the rest of the HK system to be honest, it sounds good enough for my needs. Just wanted some clearer, meatier bass.

I got a couple of Audison APBMW S-8 subs, as they're a direct replacement (including the plug). Literally half an hour from start to finish for both.

I was really lucky, I picked up a pair that were dealer returns (from Germany) for £160 delivered. Usual price is between £180 & £220 each...

Just purchased the Eton subs and door speakers. Might need to Amp it, but I'll see what they're like first

Think you'll definitely need an amp or two if you're upgrading from the basic sound system. The Etons are a good choice, sound very good on their own to be fair. But if you amp them the difference will be staggering...

I'm going to order the Eton SDA 150.4 amp, 4 x 120 watts rms. That should bring them to life
