I assume... those people claiming that the out of the box settings being perfect are using stock ride height?

Otherwise, I don't understand how the out of the stock setting can be perfect when there are different ride heights. Can someone shed light on this?

Does ride height change comfort? When i looked at KWv3 spring, it feels like spring tension doesnt change with ride heigh and it will have same spring rate at any height. isnt that the beauty of coilovers?

The out of box settings are usually a "recommended setting" for what KW thinks will work best for most situations. As in all adjustable products, you will have to adjust to taste depending upon how it applies to your driving habits, road conditions, ambient temperatures etc.

The ride quality on the KW coilovers will indeed be affected by the ride height as the spring perch height will directly impact how much travel the shock piston will have. In KW's case, as the spring perch goes lower, the less travel the shock will have. Ride comfort degradation won't be as noticeable when the drop is minimal, but will exponentially degrade as you go lower.
