Someone needs to make a urethane version of these diff-raise bushings, need this for the e9x m3 also! Powerflex purple would be great actually, have my diff mounted with the regular version of those now and added NVH is minimal.

I just emailed powerflex with the idea and pointed them to this discussion, perhaps we can get them and Bimmerworld talking on this!

You can use the bmw polyurethane rear bushings, and the front ones when I'm in the workshop I'll upload a picture with an idea.

Continuing to roll on with the GTMore updates! This one hits a pretty critical reliability piece that I know a chunk of you are aware of, but for those that aren't - this gets into a bit more detail of the rear hub failures that can happen, why it happens, and what the fix is:

If the hub was a problem bmw motorsport would have changed it on the m4 gt4 so this looks like smoke to me...

Perhaps the operator of five F82 M4 GT4s in IMSA and SRO competition deserves a tiny bit of credit when they talk about reliability topics of the F8X.
This doesn't make BimmerWorld infallible, but maybe before someone accuses them of talking bullshit, they should take a deep breath and think for a few seconds.

And as I have the part in two of my cars, I can enlighten everyone with the fact it is a BMW Motorsport part, built for the M4 GT4s. It was not in the original iteration of the M4 GT4 but in a subsequent revision because the original part kept breaking.

I'll go further and say that even if BMW had never upgraded the part, this would still be an issue. Again, I have seen two cars in HPDEs live break the rear hub. It is a rare occurrence, but it happens.

I would like to know in what conditions the hub broke.

I have one on the workshop and it is not very clear to me....

That isn't a hub failure. Let me spitball here...the rotor was cracked and eventually it yeeted itself to freedom.

Relax mate, you look very stressed... that is a wheel hit against the curb breaking the wheel in half.

Hmmm. I’m struggling with what you’re intending to bring to this conversation? Lots of generalized statements about lacking intent or capability on BWs part, then posting unrelated pictures but acting as if they’re tied in to your preceding statement on hubs. Finally projecting your frustrations?

Maybe the point is that even with an impact in this situation that took out a wheel and the brake disc, this hub bent but didn't fail it in the same mode?

The rear hubs break from metal fatigue (remember - any metal on a tracked car will eventually fail given enough time and stress, including the car chassis itself). So this means over time - not in a single high-stress impact.

Our first experience with this unfortunately was on our GT4 car while leading our home race in 2018 (first season) with about 7500km on the car and all parts on it. At this point we have seen it not frequently - but certainly it is a common explanation for rear wheel fastener issues, and complete hub failure isn't a surprise. The GT4 Evo package came out in for the 2021 season and included these new hubs, as well as a range of performance improvements and more race/environment specific solutions. Due to the risk of damage as a result, to me this is a definite preventative measure.

It's probably bent, I'm going to remove it from the bearing and check on the lathe if it's bent or not, anyway thanks for the explanation.

Phil took me for a lap in the GTMore at VIR this past weekend. Needless to say, DAMN

It started to rain near the end of our session, and I politely put my hand up and waved off anymore laps lol.

I've been driving at VIR for 20+years and have a full blown 300whp S14'd E30 M3 and this was the most ferocious (and comfy ) laps I have experienced!

The spreadsheet is out and the budgeting has begun

I was in the market for a replacement track car for when I retire the Michelin E30 M3 car, and instead of building/buying a prior pro build raceacar, this route has become the preferred one. Looking for a good M4 to start the build on. Was going to just get a tracked GTS but it has its own detractions and the GTMore is the way to go.

The gtmore is fantastic! We're so happy to be building two! It takes the arrive and drive concept of an M car and dials it up to 11!

We've already driven over 1000 street miles in ours, and the dd capabilities are not much worse than a regular f8x with track suspension and seats

Here’s what I was playing in. I’m looking for a good candidate for a GTMore build if anyone knows of one. I want a white car.

Updated OP with a new vid - seen this thing with livery on instagram this week and it looks menacing.

New turbos, dive planes, and Pwurz's flow.

I’m a little disappointed in the GTMore showing at One Lap. I would’ve thought being the intended GT Pcar killer, it would be fairing better.

I’m very impressed with Salil and Tom, although I didn’t realize you could solicit a Pro as your partner. I guess having James isn’t any different?
