Cool Custom Alcantara Door Handle Trim

I've been working on an alternative to the BMW M-Performance Carbon Fiber Door Handles that most seem to upgrade too. Although CF Trim is nice, I wanted to individualize my Laguna Seca Blue M3 a bit more. With that said, I decided to put by design & pattern making expertise to use and developed a pattern to produce genuine Alcantara Door Handles.

I'm very pleased with the outcome and the match to the M-Performance Shift Knob/Boot is perfect. It really adds a nice, tactile feel to the door handles. In addition, they install in a few minutes.

I'm working on more custom interior trim for the F8X chassis, but for now here are a few pics.

Enjoy!

Wow... Great work! I'm sure others would absolutely love this especially if you also had contrast stitching.

Thank you! Contrast stitching is the next step. Wanted to perfect the Alcantara Center Console before I switch gears like that.

Doesn't wear out as quick as you think. Not to mention, the backside of the door handle gets the most wear. Hence why it was designed from plastic.

The alcantara has been holding up well. I wrapped some other interior trim like the dash and steering wheel. Wrapping the wheel allowed me retain the OEM heating function. Traveling right now. Can share more pics when I return.

Enjoy your trip! If you are interested in possibly doing a couple pieces when you get back I would love to speak to you about it.
