ok, I just had the service completed but the dealer did not put any kind of sticker marked 703 on my B pillar...
Service took 35 min or so, they claimed they cleared faults at the end of installing the CAN... Keep in mind my m4 was one of the first production batches.. took delivery about June 16th.. week before official launch, which means my car for sure was missing this fuse. I don't notice anything different about the sound and I paid close attention on the way back to the office. I drove with my window down to even hear a different note.. The shift points feel exactly the same as well.. I assume because any DCT bmw I have owned, DCT has always been a bit jerky... So who knows if my dealer installed anything at all? lol.. anyways, I will give it more time and report if I notice anything else different in the days to come. |

I kinda feel like the ones noticing a difference are having the sugar pill effect...

My M4 was built in mid-July and does not have a 703 sticker. I checked with my SA and he said my car does not need the installation.

Same. Instead in my case, the SA suggested me to leave the car for the day which I'm really paranoid about. I don't think this procedure would take more than 2 hours max, and with the dealers damaging M3/4s here and there forget it.

I went to my dealer yesterday, they checked with the key reader and nothing came up. They also checked with BMW AG notice and there is no information about the CAN in Europe. They think that only US cars are involved with that.
My production was in July 28th |

My car is at the dealer for the 2000kms break-in service and the key reader did display the need to perform the 703- CAN Service Bulletin

I had my can terminator replaced and a friend of my noticed my car sounded louder when I passed by him on the street and he did not know I took the car in for service.
Unfortunately now my car is acting strange. Before the change the car used to startup in efficient/comfort/comfort. Now it starts up in efficient/sport/sport. Not sure why. The car feels fine but I'm taking it back to the dealer anyways as they didn't even have the oil filter to do my break in service. Ridiculous!!! |

I just got coded the On-Off feature to memorize to the last setting before shutting off the engine. It took longer than a day mostly because my dealer explained that some changes to factory codes need an "FA code" to be modified, in my case, this special code has to be sent from the regional BMW office in Brazil.
As for the coding of the Efficent-Sport-Sport start up modes, same story, we are still waitong for the FA code from Brazil, so I took my car out until they call me when they receive the new code. Will post my updates as soon as they come

Just called to get 1200 mile service.
They checked my car on the computer and said the CAN terminating resistor was already done in Germany at the port. But, I don't see a 703 sticker on my B-pillar. |
