Maybe she was mad at me and decided to just slam it into the wall a few times. SMH
Literally that is one explanation as weird as it is to say.

The other is that if there is actual water damage on that battery, try to find out what electrical issues can do in a car, if there are any possibilities.

Unless the whole thing was staged, I am so confused man i feel sorry for you.
She said the car reversed by itself and floored in reverse with the emergency brake on and her pressing the brake. How is that even possible?!! Maybe she floored it by mistake instead of hitting the brakes? Here are tire marks from it either peeling out or dragging.
No chance she can floor it forward then proceed to floor it in reverse unless 1 of 2 things.

1. she did it herself purposefully
2. your car somehow someway went haywire in some weird inexplicable way (maybe someone can refute this somehow)?

It makes sense possibly that your car can switch gears if haywire maybe? I mean the tranny is controlled by a computer no?

But isn't flooring completely mechanical?

Is it possible for BMW to pull the logs like I do via BM3? Thats how you find the answer

99% certain BMW can pull the logs to see exactly what happened.

Shitty way to end the day man. Sorry to see this. I don't think this was a technical glitch. Like others have said, you really need to get the logs. That seems to be a pretty short distance, but decent speed, and I could see accidentally flooring it and dumping the brake, but you're not going to get that far dragging off the wall with the park brake engaged. Seems more logical there was some serious panic and overreacting that caused this. My guess is she accidentally banged the front thinking she was in reverse, then shifted into reverse and gunned it trying to get off the wall which lead to winning prize number 2.

Has your girlfriend driven your car for a while? Wondering if maybe it started to jerk and she might of accelerated instead of braking when trying to put it in park causing all this mayhem.

I am not gathering what happened via video, from this it looks like she reversed into a wall and then kept wcraping it and going and going?

This could happen with 1 full swoop, like if you accidently freak or get your slipper stuck under a pedal or something and she floored it and scraped?

But from this video i am not seeing how she hit the front, did she hit another beam?

Also doesnt explain the water explosion. I would gather the datalogs from BMW.

They should be able to pull the throttle open percentage vs pedal depression percentage. At least I can with BM3.

In a case where car went haywire if its even possible your pedal percentage should be very low while your throttle open should be 100%. This would mean the car floored itself i believe but i dont even know if this is physically possible.

In addition the front passenger wheel is sideways and not in alignment with the driver side wheel. Broken wheel rod of some sort. She swears the car did this on its own. 2.5 gallons was spilled in the trunk. Still not sure how a electrical issue could cause gear shifting and max acceleration.

After pulling the trunk apart these electronics were submerged in water.

After thinking about it, if your battery goes haywire It just won't power your car, i don't think it can fuck your ecu up and switch gears.

Also max acceleration i swear is mechanical, i don't buy it.

She panicked, the battery definetly got fucked which probably threw up some codes maybe did some fucked noises, she panicked at what was going on freaked out slammed the gas instead of brakes because she got spooked, then got spooked she crashed your M3, freaked out to get it to pull out, instead of tapping accelerator slowly she mashed it, forgot where the wheel was positioned, scraped the sides.

That's a likely story but until you pull those logs I wouldn't have that fight just yet, she genuinely might believe that the car went nuts.

i once had an old VW jetta that i drove with slippers on a few times, one time i was super sick with the flu on a rainy day, i was parked and put my car into gear, the driver beside me was pulling out at the same time but i didn't realize, i paniced thinking my car was moving on it's own im reverse, i put the brakes on, my idiot ass thought my car was still moving, half asses i got my slipper caught in the pedal at the same time. I mashed the gas went over the parking block into the grass patch of a supermarket store.

All this happened because my peripherals were giving me bogus sensory inputs. Similiar thing with her, she got overwhelmed, paniced and freaked.

Throttle is drive by wire. There is no mechanical connection from accelerator to engine.

Hope she’s ok.

Would this imply it is possible to have the throttle position be 100% i.e. floored. With a pedal position not a 100%.

In other words WOT without actually hammering down?

That I have no clue about. Water and fuses/electronics don’t usually mix but I find it highly unlikely it would cause the car to lurch forward and then in reverse.

I wonder if there’s a camera in the garage that saw everything

The water bottle exploded because it was being thrashed around in the trunk. Unfortunately I think this was driver error.

Seems like she mistook the gas for the brakes, afterwards got out and was like OH FUCK. Blames it on the water bottle.

Damn sorry to see that man. LMK if you want to part out that hood. I'm only semi-serious.

Without knowing what electronic modules were covered by water, I will assume it’s possible that water caused a rare haywire event causing the car to go into gear and accelerate.

Even if that happened...Brakes should be stronger than the engine and she should have been able to out-brake the engine (a 2000s Camrys brake force is equivalent to 537 Hp... M3 should be better).
https://www.motortrend.com/news/unin...leration-test/

This has been covered about 10 years ago and in most cases the cause was driver pedal confusion in panic.

Regardless of how it happened I hope your gf is ok. I would assume it’s true the car went crazy and who knows how any of us would have reacted.
Cars can be replaced. CS hoods can be donated (I’ll take it). Kidding. Kidding.

Geez, I dunno. Could be electronics but I kinda agree with deeldoo, that's seems pretty plausible too. I got some friends and we got the car on some wheel dollies and pushed it into the parking spot. Car is totally f'd up. She had to hit the wall hard to break/bend the wheel rod. Electronics are f'd, front and rear bumpers gotta be replaced, passenger rear fender is bent to hell, rear exhaust tips are bent, all kinds of error codes being thrown, battery prob has to be replaced. Who knows what else. Omg I hope my Geico insurance covers this. I'm gonna see what I can do to get logs from BMW and get see if the apartment captured anything in their cameras.
