Well they say the new Z06 is faster than the ZR1 which ran a 7:19 at the ring. Who knows what the new Z06 will run?

You'd have to get an entire new dash (HUD has cutout in the IP), so it's completely not worth retrofitting. You might as well get it from the beginning.

I absolutely adore HUD, when you go from that to a regular dash, it's such a pain (drove an F11 with HUD for a week when I was in Germany). The only problem I have is that they'll make it part of the Exec package which could be 4-5k, not exactly chump change.

So you can't get cloth + HUD
And you can get HUD standalone. Lose lose.

P.S. My ~65k M3 vs a close to 100k Z06.... that's not exactly chump change for us mere mortals. And I was also thinking this. There's no such thing as too much power they say, but where the hell am I going to use the Z06's power? I certainly would be scared to hell on mountain drives. Hell my NA S65 can more than easily get me into trouble. Just thinking out loud that's all (do love the Z06 though, first American car I'm really drooling over)

are you fuckin serious? I though ED was like a 7-8% savings. Mind me asking why does it matter if it comes out of dealer allocation?

you can always be creative when sourcing parts though! i did have an f30 with hud and it was badass...the m5/6 huds look proper with rpm's but i dont think i would die not having it....maybe elec perf wheel with fancy shift lights is what i need! lol

The outgoing M3 Coupe still shows up on bmw.ca with a $71+k starting, so you won't be wrong.

price is competitive still, about what we expected. Another $20k in options, and you're at $85k+ vs. $75-8k+ MSRP before. Still in the consideration set. Need to hear and drive it before a final conclusion can be made, simply too many competitive offerings coming out next year that would compete for this type of moolah...Got to say, base Z06 comes to mind with minimal options.

Just saw UK M3/M4 order guide.
http://www.redoak.co.uk/images/m3pricelist.pdf

It seems like UK M3/M4 gets 19 inch wheel as standard option. 18 inch option doesn't even exist in order guide.
Also metallic paint is no cost option for them, too.

(I am completely pulling that out of my ass on a hunch) Z06 is lighter, more power, torque, and I assume fancier suspension being brand new tech. A little bummed it didn't get the cool DSSV suspension the Z28 uses though.

Awesome info, thanks! So US pricing must surely be ready as well.

They priced it right with the times and with the evolution of the car. Sadly, $70K is a huge difference from 10 years ago where and E46 M3 would've cost $55K and this reduces the amount of potential customers that'd like to acquire the M3/M4.
I actually don't have a problem with these cars becoming a bit more exclusive. Had started to see too many of them on the road.

5k isn't going to make them exclusive. A fully loaded pick-up costs 55k these days.

Only the M5/M6/X5M/X6M in the USA get Nav standard.

Other of note:
- EDC standard with no passive suspension option in the UK.
- Full leather is $$$
- Audio upgrade seem to be speakers only.
- Moonroof is $0 option, cool.

+3

The 1M is probably the only relatively exclusive modern BMW because of the limited production numbers.

Unfortunately, I think you'll be right. I'm thinking $71K and $74K for M3 and M4 respectively.

Doubt it, I bought my 13 640gc within the month it came out and the same for my 14 x5. Both cars were in high demand and very little supply. Got them both at invoice.

On the other hand, my ford dealer had their boss 302 on their lot for months and wouldn't let it go for msrp. Point is, BMW dealers are really good at just moving inventory, but it's also what makes the brand less exclusive with their cheap leases and balloon financing options. I'm not complaining

I agree but he said it's the best performance bargain. There's nothing I can think of I can afford I would take over a M4.
