The pad spreader that I have doesn't really help. Its not possible to insert the pad while the spreader is pushing the pistons into the caliper. I need to email StopTech to see if they have hints as otherwise, changing pads is a major PITA with the anti knock back springs.

When did you order your setup? I placed my order the last week of 2020, and am starting to consider canceling if Adam at buybrakes or Tyler at Stoptech dont give me something definitive soon.
stoptech is really behind schedule. Ordered mine right before xmas last year, delivered on Apr 10th.

seems there is no wide(61mm) race pad available out there. See my latest thread - Stoptech said they would switch back to a normal annulus rotor with this kit.

Ridiculous so I'll have to buy all new hats?

I think so - or we can continue to use the wide annulus rotor (so we can re-use the hat), but buy
narrorw/regular pads in the future. I'm not sure how much lighter the narrow rotor is comparing to the wide annulus ones though.

Knowing our luck I bet that they don't even make a front hat for regular width rotors.

At least there is more thermal mass with the wider annulus, but it surely looks weird if you use non-wide pads with it.

Installed my front and rear Trophy setup last week, and did 1 bleed session with an old fashion 2 person push/hold, did a drive and bed in, and finished with a second bleed using the motul power bleeder.
The initial bleed left some air in the system, and the second really firmed up the pedal.
Honestly I am super impressed with the initial bite and firm pedal feel on the sport pads!

Anyone take their car to the track on the sport pads this kit comes with?

I'm going to have to bleed the system once more because I thought 309 pads came with way less initial bite and softer but more linear travel over stock.

My impression of the 309 pad was that it didn't bite as hard at very low speeds compared to the OEM setup, but it was better at higher speeds and had a more linear performance.

It looks like you got the non-wide version of the street pads. The wide annulus pad is much closer to the rotor hat.

This pad you have seems to be neither the 61mm wide annulus 309 pad or the 54mm allegedly wide annulus SR33 pad that I got... It's probably the 309 for the narrow annulus rotor (from last gen str60 kit)

Let me know if you need to do ABS pump flush. I have a Foxwell NT530 that can activate the ABS DSC pump

I would say definitely do one more bleed. On a new system I've noticed I typically need 1-2 additional bleeds.
TBH, I am having a hard time acclimating to just how sensitive and immediate the bite is when beginning to depress pedal. Annoying on the street, but hopefully will be what I tend to ask of the car as I like to get deep into brake zones before braking.

If anyone wants to link up in SJ we can compare kits and experiences.

Interesting development. Was Stoptech just throwing random pads in people's shipments?
Here is after bedding and one maybe 10 mile drive.

I'm running SR33 race compound from stoptech. There is a lack of initial bite - but it made easy for low speed modulation. I have done full flush (including ABS/DSC pump flush) after installing the front kit, but (with the SR33 pad) at low speed, the first half inch of the pedal travel does not slow down the car that much. Happy to meet up and compare the pedal feel!

Wow, so it sounds like we have polar opposite setups of each other right now, as you would be hard pressed(pun intended) to not spill your beverage during the first half inch of pedal on my car.
That would be cool to meet up and compare.
