Pilot Sport Cup 2
Is anyone running the Pilot Sport Cup 2 on the stock 437M 19. I'm looking into it, running 255/35/19 f, 275/35/19 r.
The 275/35/19 offering is the OE front tire for the Mercedes AMG GT R, talked to Michelin they said it's not an issue to run, any thoughts on this as far as compatibility etc. ? There's a 285/35/19 option, which I could use for the rear, but after looking at a lot of posts & pictures, I believe 255/35, 275/35 is the best fit for the 19x9, 19x10 437M wheel. Thoughts & discussion appreciated. (Last statement: Price aside this is the best tire out there, M3 needs to be able to option it) |

I would go with the front 265 from the GTS and the generic 285 PSC2 for the rear.

I like that idea, can I ask the premise behind your reasoning..
Is it that going 265/35, 285/35, using the star BMW M4 GTS tire up front puts rubber to the road better, more similarly matching the performance characteristics of a BMW, or is it to stay away from the Mercedes GT R 275 PSC2 tire because running that tire is unacceptable in terms of what it will do to the M3's performance? I'm not questioning the benefit of going 265/285, however if I can I'd like to stay 255/275. Is there any reason running the 275/35/19 Mercedes GT R PSC2 on my rear 19x10 would be detrimental to performance or safety on the M3 ? |

No, the 275 Mercedes GT R OEM tire would not pose a safety issue on your M3. |

The 265-285 combo will put a fair bit more rubber on the road (a full 1" in front and 0.5" in the rear). Further, the 265 (*) spec is specifically designed as a front tire for the F8X chassis, which is a pretty good starting point . Putting a tire that was specifically designed as a front tire on the rear axle (such as the 275 (M0) spec) is not the best idea; no safety issue though, just sub-optimal performance.
