Bump stop DIY
Anyone have a bump stop diy to share or is it legit the same as replacing the springs and struts?

It’s a simple process. The ID of the bump stop should match the OD of the strut/shock piston rod. Once the strut has been removed from its upper (strut tower) and lower mounts (knuckle), the springs are compressed and removed from the struts. Now you slide the old bump stops up and off of the piston rod and then install the new bump stop by pushing it down the piston rod. Similarly, for the rear, once the shock has been removed from its upper and lower rear mounts, you slide off the old bump stop and then push the new bump stop down the piston rod. If this is for the oem suspension then I believe you’ll have to remove the old bump stops from the dust shields and install the new bump stops into the dust shields before sliding the new bump stop-dust shield onto the struts/shocks. New bump stops installed. You’re done!

Jump to rear damper removal/disassembly/overview section. Also take note of the tools overview at the beginning.

OEM bump stops come with the plastic dust shields in case anyone is considering doing this too. Only need to purchase part number 31337847662.
