Playing videos from USB

Hi,

Apologies if this is a well-worn subject but I am a newbie! I can play DVD video through the screen but I cannot see any way to play video files on a USB stick. I have tried .m4p, .wmv, .avi but they are never detected. Is the some trick for doing this?

I should add that I have an iPOD plugged into the centre USB which contains some movies but these never show up either!

Cheers

Sorry, answering my own question! It looks like .m4p, wmv etc. are playable off an USB stock. M4v movies which are DRM protected from an ipod do not show up at all. It seems the iDrive knows they are protected and does not bother.
