Convertible partitions slams down on acceleration

My f83 triune partition slams down when accelerating hard. I assume I need new gas struts and this will fix the problem. Has anyone experienced this problem?

Ive had a E93 and now the F83. It’s not designed to be in the up position, resist the torque applied and not fall in the down position. Completely normal. If the trunk is empty, I just put it in the down position and forget about it (also allows you to operate the convertible top). Now obviously if you have items or suitcases in the trunk, it can me in the up position, and the suitcase usually keeps it there.

You can replace the struts and apparently prevent this
