My M4 MG/SO 19" is on it last tracked AIS position was here. After that I couldn't find any online free system to show its current location. My salesman was surprised my car was on it!!! Delivery July 17. The wait is too much ...

Yes, it docks in Halifax on June 29th and usually takes 2-3 weeks for delivery. Maybe a bit earlier but that's the projected date. It does seem long but can we do???

It docks in NYC July 1st. I'm hoping to have it the following week. Considering my dealer is 30 min from there. As long as VPC can push it through

Lucky you, in my case the car spends few days at customs, blah blah,... has to be wheeled on a train from Halifax to Montreal, and then the dealer has to prep it, WTF, then deliver it ...

I wish we could see the current position of the ship since the last update was on 6/22. But so far it's been on schedule. I spoke to my CA, as soon as my car gets off the truck, I'll leave work immediately to sign the paperwork and drive home with no PREP because I can't wait any longer, summer is at its midpoint and I don't want anyone at the dealership taking it for a joyride to "test" her out before me!

Nailed it man. I ordered mine March 30th with the thought that I'd have the entire summer with it...

Also going for no prep here but mostly because I know dealership detailers are teenagers picking dirty rags up off the floor.

what do you all mean by no prep, and do you have that option ? i.e. can we tell the dealer dont prep it, whatever is done in that phase. sometimes i read its just useless, but not of the details.

The "detailers" that are hired by the dealers to prepare your car for delivery are, in the main, not very careful with the car and install swirls in the paint by not taking proper precautions.

Having "no" dealer prep done isn't accurate either, since they need to do a few things to the car to deliver it to you (like take the shipping spring spacers out of the shocks) and hook it up to the programming machine. What you can have them skip is any paint prep, washing, or "detailing". You can even tell them not to remove the shipping plastic that is attached to the hood and roof, door edges, and all the plastic on the interior.

great info, thanks. i have read in another thread that some people delivered their M to car retailers with the white wrapping, now i get it. i think i'd ask my dealer definitely not to wash unless they can tell me how they are doing it and even then there's no guarantees.

I have looked into getting a trial satellite account with one website but didnt work. and it seems Torino doesnt do the WMO -VOS system so no luck in tracking it with other websites. so we have to wait until Monday to see it dock in Halifax !!!

Dont they still have to drive the car to fill it up, who do you think drives it ? I live next to a BMW dealer, and i always see these young kids at the pump.

Yes, that's another thing that they do - the full tank of gas at delivery. I did a fleetmon account - this lets you choose one ship to satellite track for 2 weeks for like $15. But since your ship is so close to Halifax, I would just wait for it to show up on Terrestrial AIS again.

At this point paying for any tracking services will be pointless since we're so close to Halifax. I should have specified earlier what I meant by "no prep." I want to be the quintessential kid on Xmas morning opening up my presents, i.e., my car that I have waited nearly 6 months for. I want to tear off all the plastic and give her the first official wash. The dealer will still have to remove the blocks out of the suspension, fill the tank, and program her as was stated above. I'm pretty sure a young kid will get to drive her and fill her up but that's out of my control.

Guys we're DAYS AWAY FROM TAKING DELIVERY!!!! I'm so excited it's on my mind 24/7. Are you guys experiencing the same thing? I can't even get a proper workout in at the gym without thinking about this car. I must have OCD or something.

Hahaha. You are not the only one. I think most BMW owners are OCD and worse if you are an engineer like me.

When I visited the dealer recently my heart was beating faster. So yes we are all like that. I may consider keeping it with the white wrap but my wife will probably call the Douglas.

Now don't rub it in, you say days and it's still weeks for me even that I am few days by train from Halifax
