My AC stopped working and then turned back on
My car ac was working for like 30 mins then stopped. Had to shut off a few times n it kick started again. It was hot out side too. Jus bought the car no warranty. I heard some ac stories already. Didn't think it would happen to me.

This happened to me on a long, hot, humid drive through Texas. I did some very sweaty research when I pulled over in a small town and read somewhere that it had simply frozen the compressor.
I continued to drive with the AC totally off for about 10 minutes then turned it back on and it worked. Never had the issue again |

Yeah the compressor just freezes after extended use.
Make sure you turn it off for a while before shutting your engine down too so you don't get mold build up in your ventilation lines. |

This happened to my M4 during a road trip a few months back. Took it in to my service department and had it fixed under warranty. I think the service bulletin had them move the evap sensor or something like that

I have had this happen. There is a service bulletin out for it (not sure what year you have). I was out of warranty also. Dealer wanted $380 to do the reprogram. Told them to keep it. $380 for a tech to hook up a computer and then go do something else and comes back an hour later was not worth it. I’ve only had it happen 2 times in a year. Usually high temp and high humidity.
Before a certain production date requires a sensor adaptor to be installed, after a certain date, requires a reprogram. Think the swap over was sometime in 2014 or 15. |
