A Dremel with a circular sanding attachment is all you need to trim the left corner of the plastic back cover. No need to insert the screen all the way into the dash either - use long tie wraps to fix the screen to the mounting holes in the dash. You will not notice that the screen is actually floating in the dash. Completely reversible back to stock this way.

Note that pre-2017 displays (iDrive 4 APIX1) require a voltage regulator and coding to work with iDrive 5-on APIX2 systems.

Somehow it looks much better with the bigger screen...

Which model or part number F15 screen would work without any coding or voltage converters?

So to get this done you just need f15 screen?

Everything else is plug and play? (Besides slight cuts to make it fit)

Ok. Fair enough.

My large ass ultra high def blah blah is in a huge room with high ceilings not in some small ass coffin.

I just don't give a shit about the screen, car play, touchscreen (ridiculous).

Hell, I'm about to order another F82 without HUD. I can't see that shit most of the time anyway.

To each his own

Enjoy

Very cool!

Touchscreen?

Does it still set off laser falses on radar detectors like the original touchscreen?

I only upgraded to an F15 screen keeping the same NBT headunit, its from an NBT 2015 X5.

I am trying to upgrade to the NBT EVO II with a newer F15 compatible screen but it does seem trickier than normal according to Bimmertech and others.

Besides the X5, any other model's screen would work as well?

Most of the LED screens are the same, its just the X5 has the specific outer trim similar to the M3. I don't know what other ones, obviously an X6 screen would also work. Make sure the NBT or Evo version will be compatible with said screen. You have a 17 M3 so I would say make sure you get a 17 or 18 X5/6 screen.

That's a damn shame. It does look like its too big to massage in the M2C dash but can't know until someone actually tries comparing.

Yup and I'm not ready to commit to cutting up the dash haha, it did power on and work perfectly though. Damn shame.

G30 screens will work too but not much information on how to trim it. There's a forum guy who has done it to an f30.
