2018 Individual M3 Ordered with European Delivery (Edit with pictures)

After much lurking and researching on the site I finally decided to put an order in last week with my dealer.

I hovered over going with a CS as the dealer had an allocation but it was spec locked, I wanted a manual car and it didn't have the executive package, plus I wasn't keen on the colour.

Here's what I went for in the end.

Champagne Quartz Metallic
Manual
Carbonstructure Cloth/Leather
Carbon Fiber trim with black chrome
Competition Pack
Driver Assistance Pack
Executive Pack
Active Blindspot detection
CarPlay
M Performance Rear spoiler.

I took a bit of a risk with the Carbon cloth and the Champagne Quartz. Hopefully I don't regret it!

I was looking at a couple of other M Performance parts but I held back so I can feel like I'm having some fun adding things on in time.

European Delivery scheduled July 14th, It worked out well as I'm back in Europe for work in that period and I can double dip on the flights over.

Now, the wait....

Nice build, and one of the last F80s. Save the manuals.

Congrats!

I was told you could not order a regular m3 anymore, just the m3cs?

Call a bunch of dealers before you accept that answer. And go national to high volume dealerships.

This is the exact way I would built one if I were ordering. The carbon cloth alone would be enough for me, leather is very overrated. Congratulations!

Thanks for the kind words. My dealer had to make a call to see if there was availability for the build. I believe the window was/is closing. Very pleased to get one of the last of this generation. I just hope it's not the last non special edition M3 with a manual gearbox. I think that would be a travesty to put the manual sports car out of the reach of most people.

I would have loved to have been able to follow your itinerary. Sadly I'm over for the Field Hockey World Cup in London, (Random I know!) I'm arriving before the team so I can pick up the car. I have to be back in London by the 15th.

Definitely going to be a good week for you and your wife!

OP, please PM me with your dealer info. I’m trying to order one but my trusty dealer doesn’t have any allocations yet, and May allocations are a big unknown at this time.

Is this a purchase or a lease?

I'm curious when you order and do a lease, you're not paying anything (assuming no money down), until month 1 when you've taken delivery of the car, correct?

Yes, though I did put down a deposit. I wanted everything confirmed!

Cloth and 6MT FTW! Seriously if you live in a hot summer climate as I do it's silly to get leather. Three summers in and the sweaty shirt back after the car bakes in the sun for a few hours and sticking to a leather seat approaching the surface temperature of Venus is a thing of the past.

I've always had a bit of a liking for alcantara or something a little more motorsport in design. Definitely not being sweltered by hot leather on a summer day is a bonus!

Now I'm researching alcantara dash... (just for fun!)

Yeah, I don't understand why BMW offers cloth/alcantara seats as standard in other markets, but they are not even optional here...

sorry to disappoint but no m performance accessories installed at port on a euro delivery. You can add at dealer though - maybe you planned that already.

I know, my dealer informed me of that. They are going to fit the carbon rear spoiler for me. From there I most likely will go with the rear diffuser and leave it there...

Apart from the shift knob.. handbrake and armrest!

Have fun on the trip. I went to the German GP back in '16. It was a blast. Heidelburg is an awesome city. We ended up staying at the same hotel as the Haas team. Great people. Make sure to check out the castle as there are some great views of the city from up there!

Question for you experienced folk.. I've a July 14 date for pick up. I received my ED package in the mail a few weeks back, when should I expect a build number or any further contact from BMW regarding ED?
Thank you in advance.

Thank you in advance.
The fact that you already got your ED packet indicates that BMW knows that you've requested Euro Delivery. Your CA should have gotten an e-mail containing your "confirmation letter" from BMW AG. It confirms your pickup date and time and contains your production number. If you don't have this yet, contact your CA and have him forward that e-mail. Having your confirmation in writing allows you to make your airline and hotel reservations, because BMW is essentially guaranteeing that your car will be ready at the specified date and time.

This letter also contains instructions on making a reservation for a factory tour. You have to contact BMW Welt at the supplied e-mail address and request the reservation. You will also have to supply your production number. Do that as soon as you have your confirmed delivery date and time, and the production number in order to secure a spot.

Once you have your production number, you can plug it into the BMW Tracking Website. You have to have a ConnectedDrive account or create a new one. Complete instructions can be found in my thread here: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1498620.

Now is also the time to start nailing down your financing. May incentives expire today, June incentives should be available by the end of next week.
