Unhappy Intake/Exhuast Camshaft, angular offset from outside tolerance.

Hello,

A week or two ago, I made a post regarding a few error codes that were resolved but the misfire never went away. Today after just simply starting the car, I get a drive-train malfunction error and a few minutes later the CEL. This time being codes 130E20 (angular offset to the crankshaft fl outside tolerance) on both intake and exhaust alongside code 120408 (charge pressure control, shutdown: pressure build-locked). After doing some researching codes and the recent symptoms, only thing I see is the crank hub as been spun. Which doesn't make much sense to me considering this car hasn't passed 5k rpm in forever and also that it has a 4-pin upgraded hub inside already. I'm not sure what could be causing this but I have no local mechanic/dealer. Thanks.

Excuse me for saying so, but if this turns out to be the first "spun hub with upgraded hub" it's going to shut a lot of people the f**k up 😬

If you're certain it has a pinned crank hub, it could have lost the timing for some other reason (worn guides, stretched chain, etc).
Find a competent shop somewhere.

I find it extremely hard to believe its a spun hub but can't find much else on the code. Good chance I'll just have it towed/delivered 7 hours back home. But yes, it is most definite pinned. If I remember properly it is a 4 point one as well. Car is currently on 93 too, upgraded turbos but extremely conservative as of right now.

Maybe the VANOS failed?

There are other mechanical failures that trigger those codes other than an SCH.

Also, it's not impossible for an aftermarket CH solution to break, especially when the install wasn't done right. There are photos floating around with the pin hole being drilled incorrectly causing the pin(s) to come off.

You'll need to schedule a tear down with your engine if you haven't already.

Car should be coming apart soon. Will find out more as we go. It got to a point where it wouldn't even maintain a start anymore.

We have seen a car come into our workshop after another workshop did a crank hub. They didn't use new cam bolts(10aud part) and it was enough for the cams to just move and though a drve train code

Did you figure out the problem? I have something similar going on with the same codes on my m235ix.
