Hey guys, I'm gonna get a rear wing for the car for track days, something in the 66"-67" range APR or Bimmerworld

I have adaptive suspension and want to keep the shocks for now

Looking for ground control springs/top plates kit

Thinking of 450F/750r

What's your guys experience on track with rear wing? What rear spring rate would you recommend?

I want to get springs which are in the range which the shocks can handle

Getting CS coding soon if that matters

I mainly use the car for lapping, not a daily, confort is not a priority

My Platform:
F82 M4 2018 Base
Tires - CUP2 or Supercar 3R

Thx

How does the car currently feel cornering over 100mph? If it's a little on the loose side I'd say don't worry about changing spring rates. You aren't adding much aero with any of the single element stuff (maybe 100-200lbs depending an AoA and wing choice) and with the adjustments available you can dial it in as you see fit. The biggest thing for me (on my STI w GTC300) was the reduction in rear lift which I'm guessing will help the M3/M4 as well.

I still have that wing sitting in my basement and it looks like it will fit on the M3...

When cornering over 100 either single corner or S corners I do feel that the rear is not as planted as it could be

I was thinking of getting the 450/700 or 750 and testing from there, either way eibach springs are cheap and as I do all the work myself I can always order some 800-900 extra rears and mess around

But this car can benefit from rear aero properly at speed

I have a front splitter and rear diffuser already

Personally, I like to change things one thing at a time so if it were me I'd just add the wing and play with the adjustments for a day and then maybe think about messing with spring rates for the next event.

Nice car!

Nice car!
Thank you

Yes certainly I will test the setup for at least 200-500 track Kms before messing around with things

It's a rather personalized response based on my needs but I would strongly suggest anyone who has serious questions to call ground control and discuss with them. Very knowledgeable and lots of R&D behind their products and answers.
I'll be going with ~400f&~750 but it would apply to my setup

In my experience, you'd really need to significantly upgrade the dampers to fully appreciate the benefits of increased spring rates and aero, especially on higher speed tracks.

However, I think you might be fine with the stock dampers since those spring rates aren't that high. Keep us posted as how it feels.
